Hello,
There is a small waiting area left after you enter the building. You sit in the waiting area right next to the security point so you cant actually go anymore inside the building until the tour guide comes to get you.
I guess Im trying to say you can come in as early as you want (I would suggest 15 minutes) and you wouldnt bother anyone, and really no one would care that you're there.

interview here on dec 2! so excited because i love this program 🙂 i never was on re-review. here are my stats:

complete on 8/2
cGPA: 3.76
sGPA: 3.67
MCAT: 28S
extra curriculars & community service up the wazoo.
non-traditional applicant
30 yrs old w/two daughters 🙂

Does anyone know if GW gives post-interview decisions notices via e-mail, phone call, or snail mail? I searched through the previous cycle's thread but couldn't find a direct answer. Thanks.
 
They email you with the date of the interview and ask that you email them back to confirm that you can make it on that day.

At the interview they said they send decisions in 8-10 weeks (maybe more, maybe less) via both e-mail and snail mail.
 
Just got an invite to interview here on December 1st! My first invite! SO PUMPED.

Anyone else coming on the 1st?

No, it actually was a fairly quick turn-around on their part. I think I was complete there on 9/29.

I am! Its my first as well. I'm nervous but really excited.

I received my II yesterday for December 1st, and I'd been on rereview for what seemed like FOREVER! I was complete 7/12 and got the II 10/11. I doubt it helped, but I did send a letter of interest 9/22 saying I could interview anytime since I live in the DC area. Hope this helps 🙂
 
Congrats GBC, you give those of us on re-review hope (esp for the rest of us DC folk!)

"on hold for re-review at a later date" since 7/14 - OOS 3.8, 34
 
Would it be too late to apply here right now? It seems like a great school but the competition is really up there. There seems to be alot of applicants with great stats but are unable to get an interview.... Best of luck guys with the process. Hopefully we all get in somewhere. 🙂

not sure if it helps.. but i have a friend who is currently a med student and she was able to write me a recommendation.

i was never on "re-review" and got an II right away... but this may be helpful for any of you who know someone and are waiting...

For all those who have been worried about re-review. I was put on it back in August and was beginning to lose hope, but received an II invite yesterday. It seems like they just have a lot of early applicants and are just slowly making it through the pile. Hope this helps and don't lose hope still plenty of time in the cycle.
 
Anyone else having trouble logging in and checking your status on the status page?

Tonight (October 15th) is the earliest they can offer acceptances, right?? Maybe some people will hear tonight?

For a majority of schools, they will tell applicants after October 15th, although there have been some schools that have given decisions today. i think october 15th is a recommended date. Hope you hear something well! 🙂

I got interviews at other schools already, I didn't think I'd be put on rereview at GW.

So now I will just wait.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Rosslyn, VA ... I got a decent rate because I had some Holiday Inn points, but without points I think it was $179 for the night, which was the cheapest around. It was a great location because it's on the way from DCA airport and it's not too far from Rosslyn Metro stop, which is only 1 stop from GWU.

I interviewed on the 22nd and LOVED IT. If you have the chance, go to DC the day before or stay around the day after to check it out, it really is a cool city and I think would be a great place to be a med student. I interviewed on a Thursday, so I flew in Wednesday morning, went around the city, interviewed on Thursday, went around the city a bit more afterward (with a fellow interviewee), and flew out Thursday night. Obviously it depends on your schedule, but I was free those 2 days anyway. The students seemed really relaxed and friendly, but still focused, which is a great environment to be in I think. Except I sent my thank you letters WITHOUT stamps and got them back earlier this week 😱 made sure to send them out correctly this time.

I have an interview on friday and I understand the interviews are blind but does this mean the interviewer will still have my file there they just haven't looked at it yet?

Did anyone have questions of health care policy/ the reform/ ethics? Or was it more conversational since they haven't read your app before hand? I really like this school. My interview is in a couple weeks. So excited/nervous.
 
Email, Interviewed Sept 20th. Ahhhh its overwhelming. Going to be an MD!

sorry to hear that :/ i guess its better than an out-right rejection if that helps. interviewed early october so im guessing i have a few more weeks to go before i hear back :scared:
 
Alternate list. Does every one get placed on the alternate list if they don't get accepted? Or does GWU do rejections?
