I am probably going to attend MCW starting next fall. I was looking at the cost of attendance and it looks like they only factor in $470 a year for health insurance. It says something about how this doesn't include purchasing a healthcare plan so I am guessing the $470 is for deductibles and co-pays, etc.
Do you think they would allow me to increase my cost of attendance to cover purchasing a healthcare plan? I'm under the impression that the highest amount of student loans you can get for a year is the cost of attendance. If that's the case I won't be able to afford my health insurance (I am not on my parents plan). It's not a fantastic plan but it definitely costs more that $500 a year.
Can any current medical students weigh in on this? I'm concerned that I'll have to cut costs in other areas (like housing and food) to pay for insurance.
