I think you should call the office as opposed to continue waiting. I say this because someone else on the thread called the office about not hearing back from a long time and the following day they were sent an update letter on iApply.

Are you talking about elevenes? Cause he got a decision over the phone. He says he got lucky cause they had just finished the committee so I was guessing that sooner or later they were going to get back to all of us. Either way I'm happy I'm not the only one.

Also, they said they were going to be accepting ppl in feb, and no one has reported any acceptances like last time so I think a major decision wave is coming.

Yeah sorry for the confusion.

It's strange because if you look at this year and last year's posts, very few people who are accepted/waitlisted even post in these threads. It's possible the 16 later acceptances have already gone out.

I called last week and was told that decisions come out end of February.

"And we're down to 1 final interview day = Friday. A grand finale!" was just posted on the Case Western Admissions Twitter.

My guess is that the last interview are on Friday, they meet on Monday (the 25th) to finish deciding, and then they send out one large batch that week (seems like in the past they have come that Wednesday or Thursday). My guess is we'll be hearing back the 27th and 28th!

I think this tweet refers to University Track only. Good luck to all.

For people on the CCLCM waitlist, has there ever been any reports of people getting accepted prior to April 16th?

Have they already generated the wait list for this year? or are you referring to past years?

Since they don't generate the waitlist until the 16th, it wouldn't be possible for anyone on the official waitlist to be accepted before that date.

BUT one of the medical students I talked to on my interview said she was on high hold and was accepted almost immediately after attending second look, so I'm assuming that was before April 16.

So no one applying to the CCLCM has heard anything? I haven't! :-/

Vlad

So that sounds like it would be a good idea to go to second look even if you are post interview hold?

One guy who spoke to us on the interview day told us that they will invite students who are near the top of the waitlist to the second look since it is likely that those students would be accepted.

Edit: just to clarify, this is for CCLCM.

I thought the waitlist wasn't ranked?

I thought the waitlist wasn't ranked?

That doctor who spoke to us that day gave us the impression that the waitlist is ranked. Also, I would think that the waitlist is ranked so that as accepted people decide not to go, the AdCom would know who to accept to fill the remaining spots.

I thought someone said earlier that people on hold/high hold were randomly selected to attend second look? Can a med student confirm this?

Sheesh - you guys sure do work yourself up into a tizzy sometimes.

For people on the CCLCM waitlist, has there ever been any reports of people getting accepted prior to April 16th?

Why does this matter? This has is no bearing on your application cycle. The concept is simple: it is like 32 chairs at the table. If somebody gets up, then the chair is empty, and someone else can be offered the spot. calendar date has no bearing on when or whether that person decides to get up. Therefore, acceptances can come at anytime now. But to be certain: What people did in the past will not help you this year.

Have they already generated the wait list for this year? or are you referring to past years?

I was referring to past years, I don't believe they have generated the alternative list yet.

Again, how does this information help you?

? Not quite sure what you are asking here? People have been rejected. People have been accepted. People have been put on hold. Hope that helps.

Go to second look if you are interested in the program. If you don't attend it doesn't have any bearing on your potential acceptance. Ok?

Just to clarify, this is not true. I know people may think this, and every year people want to believe getting an invite to second look means they are going to be accepted, but sadly it isn't true.

I thought the waitlist wasn't ranked?

Sigh. Every year. Never fails. Let me answer with a thought question: what if I told you there is a rank-order assigned to every person, but NOBODY is accepted based on this order? Can you say the list is ranked? Can you say the list isn't ranked?

Listen, the "adcom" isn't a massive faceless committee. It is a core group of people who volunteer their time to make the best class they can. You guys minimize the efforts of the committee by thinking they simply auto dial the next person on a preformed list as soon as someone withdraws. Much like during the interview invitation process there is a lot of "soft" information that is considered before making additional acceptances.

I thought someone said earlier that people on hold/high hold were randomly selected to attend second look? Can a med student confirm this?
This is the first true statement in a while.

Ok, maybe this is a dumb question at this point, but I'm still confused as to whether the second batch of CCLCM acceptances have actually been sent out.

I was placed on the "High Hold" list, but the letter on iApply that tells me that was dated January 30, which means I was placed on that list before interviewing was complete.

The way I understand it, one of two scenarios is now true:

1) I was placed on the "High Hold" list, the second batch of acceptances went out, and I wasn't one of the lucky ones. I'm now somewhere on a general waitlist and may or may not be invited to attend CCLCM if someone currently holding an acceptance gives up their spot. More waiting for now.

2) I'm on the "High Hold" list, and the second batch of acceptances haven't gone out, which would seem to indicate that I may have a decent shot at getting one of those acceptance calls when they do go out. More waiting for now.

Am I interpreting this correctly? I think the fact that my hold letter is dated 1/30 is what is really tripping me up. I would think that if I was placed on a "high hold" list or waitlist or whatever AFTER the last set of acceptances were issued, it would have been dated more recently. I interviewed in early January, if that's useful information.

I don't mind the waiting all that much (sure, it's not great, but I've gotten pretty zen about it), I just want to make sure I'm understanding my situation correctly.

Pretty sure they haven't released the acceptances yet. But if you are on hold/high hold now, I think it means that they have looked at your application and decided that you aren't going to be in the next batch of acceptances, sorry. You'll have to wait until they give out the acceptances, and accept off of the hold lists as/if people reject the offer. At least, that is my understanding; someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I definitely get what you're saying but there's no need to be harsh man, people are just really excited about the possibility of attending Case...I'm sure you could relate to feeling this way when you were going through this long process! 🙂

Thanks for the info!

I interviewed back in September for UP, was placed on hold, and haven't heard anything since. also cannot login to apply page. Have I been rejected?

Do you mean that after you click Log-In, no page can be found? If so, I just had the same problem, and I just recently interviewed. A slip-up on their part, maybe?

I interviewed in January and mine is gone as well. Probably an evil plot on their part to get us to stop checking it for no reason, nbd.

According to twitter, med interviews are done! What are they going to do with all of us holds now? Anyone have any idea when that'll become a waitlist or if people will directly be given acceptance?

+1. Hopefully one of the current students could give some insight?

I really hope we don't have to wait until May/June to be ranked and see some movement, though I feel that's the case.

Also, to my understanding UP typically gets very little movement off their wait list. Is this true?

The alternate list will be released in a few weeks, I believe. Are you referring to the current waitlist? If so, that would be incorrect (regarding movt). The waitlist sees movement at the time the alternate list is formed, and some additional acceptances/rejections are handed out, usually in March.

Not really sure how much movement the alternate list sees later in May.

Do you guys think there is any chance University Track will hear tomorrow?

I think you should call the office as opposed to continue waiting. I say this because someone else on the thread called the office about not hearing back from a long time and the following day they were sent an update letter on iApply.

I've spoken with the office. 🙂 She said that she didn't have any information for me and to just keep waiting. I know I know, you all wish you were me. 😉

Accepted to UP!!! 😍

Sorry guys 🙁 I also interviewed on 1/25 (said I like dancing in the go-around haha). But at least it's not a rejection so there's still hope!

No, congrats to you! That's awesome!

Anyone hear anything from CCLCM? There aren't that many days left in February...

It's strange it seems they haven't sent any acceptances for the latter 16 offers they have historically been known to give out. Maybe the people accepted just don't check or post on studentdoc?

Interviewed in early December for CP and haven't heard anything. If people have already been accepted, then where is our waitlist/rejection.

Maybe will hear back tomorrow.

Yeah I agree. I guess we'll find out tomorrow..
