Congrats to those accepted so far! I'm a 2nd year at Jeff and have an opening in my apartment starting April 1. I know it's early but if any of you want to get settled into the city or are already living in Philly and wouldn't mind moving closer to Jeff it's a great opportunity to lock in cheap rent.

Your own room in a large 4 bed/2 bath just 1 block from campus. ~$550/month. You cannot beat that within several blocks of campus, I guarantee it. Roommates would be 2 male and 1 female med students from the class of 2015. You share a bathroom with just one other roommie (the lady most likely).

Your own room that close to campus can run $700-800 or even more, so even if you wanted to move in June you might still save on your total rent first year by nabbing a cheap place like this starting April. Email if interested: [email protected]

Sorry for spamming your thread! Congrats again and we look forward to having you at Jeff.

to those who still have their status as "decision pending": I sent in my application in november. Last week, I emailed the admissions office expressing my interest, why I was interested in Jefferson and why I was a good fit. Got an email an hour later from the dean of admissions saying I would be contacted about getting an interview. I got the invite a day later. Now, I don't know if I was already going to get the interview or if my email helped, but it seems like its worth a try.

any 1/30 interviewers waiting for a response? i was hoping for one today...

Thanks for the info. I just sent in another update, I hope I'm luckily enough to get an interview too!

if i have not heard anything after the interview, does that mean i have simply not been reviewed, or does it mean i am gonna be rejected/waitlisted? i saw others in this thread who received their acceptances 4 weeks after the interview. today was my 3rd week. i'm worried..

got an ii today randomly. complete in sept. scheduled for 3/6. wonder what my chances are

Congrats! Just curious, have you been in contact with the school through updates, phone calls, etc?

You haven't been reviewed. They let you know either way as soon as they can.

+1. Took me over a month to hear back because my interviewer couldn't make it to the committee meeting so don't panic.

i would say def send in update letter. I sent one in a few weeks ago

Hey guys, I have an interview scheduled for this Wednesday. At this point in the cycle do they still have slots open? Also any advice from those who have interviewed would be appreciated. Thanks.

Definitely. They save spots right until the end. I interviewed in April of 2011 and was accepted.

Sorry to hear! When did you interview, if you don't mind me asking? I interviewed on 2/6 and am dying to hear of the result.. my interview was a little hard to gauge but i've accepted the fact that the admissions process is so random and anything is possible..

yeah just more waiting now, kinda sucks but at least not a rejection i guess. interviewed on 1/23

What is their system for making admissions decisions time-wise? It seems to vary from a week to over a month.

Interview invite this morning after being complete forever ago. Prob going to cancel.

Hey everyone,

I have been accepted to a couple medical schools and the rejections ares starting to come in.. I really do want to pull my apps but I really like Jefferson and I know they interview until April! Would it be wise to send a letter expressing my sincere interest and letting them know my situation? If so, to whom do you send it to?

Just withdrew my app. Hope the interview goes to somebody who REALLY wants to go here!!

Best of luck to everyone!

Has anyone heard any news today? Interviewed recently and realllly want to know the outcome!

If you would go to Jefferson above all the schools you have already been accepted to then yes. If you just want another acceptance I'd say no. Every time a person writes a letter of interest or intent then doesn't take their interview/acceptance it hurts other applicants who write them and really want to go. I'm not accusing you of trying to put another feather in your cap, but just think of that before you try it. Send it to Dr. Callahan and/or Dr. Brooks if you do write it.

I agree with Shenanigan. I just interviewed here, I have 2 acceptances already but those schools are not even close to Jeff and i will definitely go to Jefferson if I am given an acceptance. I would only send the letters if you would definitely go to Jeff over the other schools. They have limited interview space so just make sure you are set on Jeff before sending em out. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the response! I moved away from Pennsylvania during middle school and have always had a strong desire to go back. I am into schools that I have ranked lower than Jefferson and would love the opportunity to attend. I'm not into padding acceptances, it is just the only school left on my list that I have ranked higher than my current options and if there is still a chance to get an interview I really want to try!

Definitely give it a shot then. They only use two people to read all of the over 10000 apps submitted so sending them an email to let them know you're still interested could get them to pull your file to take a look.

did anyone get an email response to their second look weekend information?

Does anyone know if Jefferson provides housing for second look day?

Thanks!

Just withdrew from the high priority wait list. Good luck everyone!

Does anyone know when financial aid packets normally come in?

when are the pre-interview rejections rolling out?

I've been waiting for an answer since July...

You could probably check with admissions about it. I'd imagine that the students who offer housing for interview days, assuming they aren't having a major test or anything, would be willing to help you out.

Attended interview on 2/6 and still haven't heard back.. aaah!! Getting kind of nervous. Hopefully my interviewer didn't forget about me and is probably just really busy....

From what they told me on my interview day, and from what I have read on here, some of the interviewers have schedules which can keep them from the committe meetings. They said they try to not have it go past 2-3 weeks so i imagine that you'll hear back this Wednesday, best of luck to you!

When does the high priority waitlist start moving? I think it was March? I sent two update letters and a letter of interest in December and January after being waitlisted in Dec but nothing since then. If it starts moving soon, then I'll send something in now

For the financial aid packets to come in, do we need to complete everything that is on the checklist? Or can they give us an estimate based on info on our FAFSA?

Did people stay in hotels/with students for interviews? Every hotel I've looked at within a ~2 mile radius of Jefferson seems to be booked for the one night I need it - 3/19? Any suggestions?
