Has Hopkins sent out any rejections? I haven't been on the thread in a while, and I couldn't find any in the recent pages.

Any body care to provide a description of their interview day here? For those who went in this season?

Would be greatly appreciated!

It was pretty chill, the interviews themselves were conversational (a faculty and student), plus while you're waiting they have fourth years there to chat with you, but do state that the group interaction is included as part of the admissions process. The whole day starts at 11am, which was a nice change from 7-8am starts. They had the usual tour of campus, lunch w/ students and/or faculty depending who is at your table, and fin aid presentation.

II on 10/25, complete early August (submitted back in July), stats in MDApps!!! <3

Should I take it as a bad sign that I got the II so much later than the date I submitted? Yeah of course I'm grateful I got the invite, but I want to be realistic too. I got the II just this week.

Also, anybody know about from when to when they do interviews?

Based on a lot of anecdotal/personal evidence, it really doesn't mean anything.

As far as I can tell, Hopkins plans to interview until early March (plenty of invites left to hand out).

Thanks, that's good to hear. Because it's on rolling admissions, it made me a little uneasy.

My friend got an invite around the same time for an interview in December and was accepted. He submitted his in July as well. I don't think it matters.

I never did get the complete email but it finally has a complete date listed after my submitted date on the application page. 🙂

This might be a silly question or may have been discussed already, but for people who have already interviewed, what is the appropriate attire for the "Greeters Program" reception the night before the interview?

Completely, completely informal.

I submitted July 6th and just got my complete email today, lol

Complete 9/11, just got the complete email today...odd that yours took so long jas

Is there a reason we are complete only now? I remember some folks being complete very soon after submitting.

Submitted 7/23 complete 8/10. Sounds like this may be the inevitable pile up as more applications come in to be processed later in the cycle. Either way, good luck to all of you; I hope to read about your II's here soon!

Does JHU do rejections after they review your application? Or do they do silent rejections?

I think you are confused, young grasshopper. Silent rejection means they reject you without notifying you in any way about it. So those two questions you asked have much relevance to each other as these two questions: "Does Dr. Hamilton have three legs? Or does he not care about his patients?"

I think scholarballer is asking whether Hopkins rejects silently or non-silently if they do not offer an interview to someone.

Answer: I'm not sure about silently rejecting, but I don't believe official pre-interview rejections come so early. It's not unheard of to receive an interview invite many months after submitting your application (for Hopkins as well as other schools), and as far as I know, we're planning to interview until early March. You can check last year's thread to confirm, though.

Submitted secondary on September 4th. Confirmed Complete Nov 6th.

Not sure that the complete email means much, I submitted October 7 and was complete October 11.

Submitted early October and was complete 5 days later here, my stats and overall application are below par for a place like JHU. Seems very random.

indeed. seems like September people are getting screwed, unless complete really doesnt mean anything.. meh, not worth worrying about i guess..

I think you guys are putting way too much weight on the length of time between submission and completion. I was complete in two weeks back in August, but I still am on the to-be-rejected list.

I specifically asked for information regarding complete status. There was no significance other than your file is ready to be reviewed. So I was worried about being complete, only because I wanted confirmation that all my information had been received. Otherwise, the complete date is not significant. But I finally know they have all my stuff and they will look at my file eventually.

Just got marked complete on the website sometime this evening (after 5PM PST).
Secondary submitted 9/22. Complete (website) 11/6.

Strange, I submitted earlier than you and am still not marked as "complete". The only thing on my status page is "submitted".

How early did you submit?

Early september. It seems like people who submitted in late September are getting marked as "complete" though, which makes me a little worried. All of my other applications were "complete" a few days after submission.

I eventually emailed because I had submitted in July. They were able to confirm I was complete and then a couple weeks later my status included a complete date.

Why would this make you worried?

Just marked complete on the status page yesterday. No email. Submitted 9/26. Hope news of an interview comes quicker!

Why would this make you worried?

Just slightly worried that maybe they didn't receive some part of my app and thus haven't marked my app as being complete. I doubt it, but being complete at every other school and not complete at JHU (especially when I have extensive ties to this school) is a bit troubling.

Are the first round of acceptances on December? Or have people been accepted already?

If I remember correctly they mentioned that the first round would be in December. I'm not sure whether they mentioned a specific date or not though.

I believe they said nothing will go out until around December 15.

They told my interview group "early December" but I interviewed back in September so I guess they've pushed it back a little more. So over a month until we hear anything......
