I did some digging on last year's thread. These are the dates where people posted news starting with the first round of acceptances. 10/17- acceptance, 19 (rejection letter), 20 (acceptances), 25 (waitlist), 27(acceptance). Since last year acceptances started in October, it may be different this year but it's at least something to go on. The post about the rejection letter on the 19th stated that the letter was sent out on the 17th (when the first acceptances came out), and since there were more acceptances 3 days after the first round, we may get some good or maybe some bad news later this week. Good luck to everyone!

Cat woman"!!!!

do you know anything about if/when/how many more invites are coming out?

Sorry, I'm not sure. I don't have any inside knowledge about the admissions office's timeline, honestly. But since they interview until March and don't typically schedule more than 1-1.5 months in advance, there should still be a solid number of invites going out.

Just got the acceptance call this morning. Beyond excited right now. Interviewed early October.

Got the acceptance call yesterday afternoon. Interviewed early October.

Also got the acceptance call earlier today! Very happy 🙂!

Congrats to everybody for their acceptances!

In the meantime, I've been complete since 7/31. Starting to lose hope.

To anyone who stalked last year's thread, do they make phone calls in the weekends?

Anyone receive the acceptance e-mail, or is it too early for that?

I got the call yesterday and they said we'd get an acceptance email early next week, since they're bogged down with interviews on Thursdays and Fridays.

Is it true they secretly evaluate you in the waiting room before interviews? I'm a little nervous about being "on" for the entire day ..

Yes. They'll tell you that on interview day, but it's really nothing. Just make sure you're on your best behavior, ask meaningful questions to the 4th years there, and try to have a good time with your fellow interviewees. It's very relaxed in the waiting area.

Agree. No one really asks you anything controversial, or tries to prod you in any way. It's more just sitting and chatting about whatever comes up.

Okay, well that makes me feel better. I listened to the rumors people spread and got worried. Thanks!

This is from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Admissions' facebook page:

"Tip of the week: Changes sent to AMCAS are automatically updated by AMCAS for the medical schools to which you have applied. I am, of course, referring to allowable changes (such as an updated address), which is what AMCAS has to consider them to be. There is no need to contact us as a follow-up. This differs from updates such as new grades, etc: AMCAS will not accept these, though some medical schools well. Unfortunately, Hopkins does not have a mechanism that allows us to update applications with new materials (such as papers, new honors or awards) once we receive the secondary application."
Doesn't look like it.

I wonder if they get to the early November group this week.

Just called and they said we should be hearing something by the end of the week. I'm not sure if that includes those who have interviewed recently though.

EDIT: so it's clear, I did not ask about the November group in particular.

Thank you Syfte3. Lets do this!

Did any accepted applicants get an e-mail yet? Or are they sending something via regular mail?

Just because they acknowledge receipt of an email does not mean that they add the information to your file.

They told me the information I sent was added to my file.

Hey for those who have gotten acceptance calls, what time (Eastern time) did you they usually call?
Thanks and congratulations

I got mine ~3 PM Eastern time. If you don't pick up (which I didn't since I was at work), they tell you to call back before 5 PM or the next day.

Rejected via email. Interviewed late September. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

So does this mean JHU has been sending out pre-interview rejections?? or have only people with IIs been rejected?

has anyone seen that in the acceptance notification letter it says that they cannot hold spots unless you submit an intent-to-matriculate agreement before Jan. 7, 2013? I thought we had until May 2013?

My e-mail says that I have a specific condition to be met, and it's documentation/completion of two biology labs. Anyone know what that means?

yeah this confused me as well, but on the phone they specifically said we would receive an email confirmation of our acceptance and need to electronically sign the form in order to hold our spot - non-binding and no deposit. so i signed it and i'm pretty sure it's just accepting the offer. someone correct me if they've heard otherwise.

when were you guys accepted via call?
