Anybody with early interview get message under application status that a final decision has been made?

i scrolled to the bottom and it says

WTF is decision letter sent?

No decision letter has been sent. That is just the place where they will post a date with the status of the decision letter. It's blank after DECISION LETTER SENT:

Thanks, I was afraid that rejections were sent via snail mail

1. Take cab to Metro North Station (either valhalla or white plains)
2. Take metro north train to Grand Central Station in NYC (42nd and Park)...cost from valhalla is $9.
3. Outside of Grand Central (on Park Ave)..to the left of the Pershing Square Diner, there are shuttles to the airport. Take the shuttle to LGA (or JFK)..cost i think is around $20.

If leaving from the interview by 5:00pm, how long would this take to reach LGA?

Cab ride to valhalla train station = 5-7 mins
Cab ride to white plains train station = 10-12 mins

Check out train schedules for train to grand central at: http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm

Get the express train...from valhalla, it's about 38 mins; from white plains it will be about 30-32 mins.

You can look at the airport shuttle schedule here:
http://www.nyairportservice.com/

Alternatively...you can take the train and get off at harlem-125th st (it's the stop before grand central), and take the M60 BUS directly to LGA. It's cheaper than the shuttle, and probably faster. But if you are going to JFK, taking the airport shuttle from grand central is probably your best bet.

ultimately, i'd give yourself about 1.5 hrs...but it really depends on when the train is leaving from valhalla or white plains...trains leave more frequently from white plains, so it would be in your best interest to just take a cab from campus (or hitch a ride from someone) to the white plains train station.

Thanks for all of your help. So the interview schedule says it will end at 4pm and my flight out of LGA is at 7pm. Can I make it taking into account that the interview might not end exactly at 4pm, I'll need to change, and I'm completely new to the area so I'll need to figure out how to get everywhere and hope the traffic/train schedules are favorable?

Submitted September 18th and not complete.
Judging from comments I guess I'll have to wait for November then?

I submitted September 5th and am still not complete - this is ridiculous. Should I call them?

I would not call them yet. I submitted my secondary on August 27th and I got my complete email on October 11th. You should be getting one soon.

You should be fine to make your flight at 7pm. I'm sure you could either ask one of the other interviewees for a ride to the train station, or the admissions office can call a cab for you (or give you the number to call). Definitely go to White Plains station because the train usually leaves every 20-30 minutes from there (it leaves every hour from valhalla--and cab fare is about the same for some reason). A cab to white plains train station would cost somewhere between $15-20. You can buy your ticket for the train right at the train station (white plains to grand central, off peak)--it is very self-explanatory...it will cost somewhere between $7 or $8.

The fastest route to LGA would be to get off at Harlem 125th street, and then get on the M60 Bus. The bus stop is about half a block from the train station..check out the map:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=harel...=chrome,mod=2&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&sa=N&tab=wl

ZOOM IN a lot to see where the bus stands are and scroll over it to look for "M60".

The M60 bus goes straight to LGA...and costs about $2.50. I'm sure if you google "M60 Bus NYC" you can find the exact locations where it stops and how far that is from the Metro North Train station (Harlem-125th st stop)...and the timings of when it stops.

Or if you aren't used to bigger cities and have a little more time on your hands (all depends on what time you get on the train out of white plains), you can just ride the train to grand central (it's like an extra 5-7 minutes on the train) and then take the airport shuttle right outside of grand central..might cost about $10-15 more, but definitely easier if you aren't use to public transportation in nyc. Note that the shuttle leaves every hour or half hour (check the schedule) and takes about 40 mins to an hour to get to the airport (depending on traffic)...so if you are pressed for time, this could be cutting it close because the shuttle doesn't leave as frequently as the M60 bus would (and the harlem stop is closer to LGA than grand central to begin with).

Good luck w/ the interview!

Did you actually get a complete email? On my status page, it says I'm complete, but I never got an email... 😕

My bad, I never got a complete email, it only says I'm complete on the status page and lists my letters of rec.

Oh no I was complete 8/28 and now I'll spend my afternoon wondering if I'm next and biting my nails. Sorry about your rejection 🙁 but keep your head up and good luck on your other apps!

Rejection email today, pre-interview. I was complete in late August if I recall correctly.

Thank you so much! Good luck on your interviews too if you're applying!

First Interview invite of the season for me!

Secondary complete: Late July
MCAT retake: mid-August
New MCAT score released: mid-September

Interview invite: 10/16

Rejected. Best news of my day so far. There's nothing like being told three times in one day you're not good enough for med school.

hey buddy, don't worry! You'll get II, you probably just didn't fit those schools, you'll do fine! hang in there!

Don't let it get you down man (maybe lady). You aren't alone, hang in there.

It depends on what circuit you're in. I was in the 3rd circuit (of 3) and was finished at about 4:30, the other two finish at 3 and 3:30.

Aww, that's awful. 🙁 I hope you get three interview invites tomorrow. 😀

I hear ya man, this process is really terrible. Just keep in kind that we are all awesome applicants that are worthy of getting in to med school (OK well most) but there just aren't enough spots. Even getting to this point makes us some of the most ambitious and successful people in the country. If it doesn't work out this year, reassess, talk to some people and try again with all the more determination! If this is really what you want you will get there! Only 1/3 of applicants get in anywhere and some people apply 3+ times before they make it.

Been complete for a while so maybe ill be getting an II or rejection soon.

Does anyone know if they have started giving out acceptances yet ?

I don't believe so. The first interview date was September 10th and online it says a decision could be made 8-12 weeks after interviewing. My guess is decisions will be going out in November.

Your wait was pretty fast comparatively...I submitted 8/15, finally complete 10/17.

Hopefully NYMC likes what they see now that I'm complete 😀

Oh Dang, well hopefully we both get interviews!

I actually submitted 9/16 if that helps!

I thought I remembered them saying mid Dec were gonna be the first acceptances

I have tried to contact my student host twice (a little more than a week apart). Shall I contact the hosting program and try to get someone else or just wait it out some more? My interview is in a month.
