Hey all!

My file has been completed and under review since 21 November 2012!
Still got nothing, neither an interview invitation nor a rejection letter, is there any hope left?:/
I am an international student. I am so worried.

Haha I've been complete and under review since October 9...... No idea if there's hope left though.
 
Hey guys!!! NYMC M1 here. Congrats to everyone who is accepted into the class of 2017. To those of you on the wait-list. Don't fret, there are a ton of people from my class who got in off the wait list. I didn't find out until July 7, after I had accepted a job, committed to finishing out my masters degree, re-taken the MCAT, and spent a couple thousand dollars on round 2 of med school apps. Just know there is still a pretty decent chance of getting in. NYMC historically has a lot of wait list movement.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me. It might take me a bit to get back to you because we are going into finals for biochem/physio.

I just got an e-mail from the school about the NYMC Big Sib-Lil' Sib Program. They offered to set up newly accepted students with someone to talk to about the program and help them learn more about the student experience at the school before we make our decision. This school gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

I just got a phone call for an interview this morning and I withdrew my spot. So there are definitely still interviews still going out.
 
Hey can anyone tell me how long it takes for them to send their decision? I was thinking 4 weeks but I'm not sure anymore.. I interviewed early February..thanks and good luck to all of you!

I interviewed in November and it took them about 8 weeks...most people seemed to take about 8 weeks but it might be sooner now since the year is winding down...
 
Got the phone call two days ago as well
I'm gonna go since it's like 30 min away. Why the deuce not

Peeps who haven't heard back yet hang on it ain't over

I honestly didn't know they don't have a secondary so I wasn't complete here til like mid Sept.

Dude this school doesnt take internationals. Only Canadians I think.
Any other recent Interview Invite folks?

"All courses taken in satisfaction of the requirements for admission must be taken at or accepted as transfer credits by an accredited college in the United States or Canada, and must be acceptable to that institution toward a baccalaureate degree in arts or sciences."

So the other poster was kind of right in that if you're purely a non-Canadian international you won't get in.

I think your friend will be fine since they went to a college in the US/Canada. However the person that asked originally went to a US accredited college in Beirut, and I don't think that counts.
 
II today! There were ~6 dates between 3/18 - 4/18 available!

On the MSAR its says "
Can applications from international student be accepted?
Only Canadians"

Waitlisted today. In all honesty, even if I were to be accepted (even if it were my only acceptance) I'd likely decline. The interview day was very underwhelming (treated like a number by basically everyone there, and MMIs don't do much to help you get to know the faculty or school), and the idea of living in on-campus apartments with most of the class makes me cringe. It really seems like being trapped on a suburban campus for 2 years. No thanks.

Wait listed today, interviewed 2/7 32R 3.7GPA. I hear the wait list sees significant movement but this waiting game is killing me!!!
 
Strange, everyone seems to be having a ~4 week turnaround. I thought NYMC is usually pretty slow in their decisions (8-10 weeks).

Congrats to those accepted though! :)
 
For all the people who have been accepted/WL in the past few days - when did you interview? I interviewed 2/11 and want to know when to expect a decision
 
Anyone started a facebook group for those accepted?
 
Acceptance email Monday morning 3/04.
Interview 1/22.
Secondary complete 8/15.

I Interviewed like a month ago and just got waitlisted... Does anyone know how is the waitlist movement for this school?
 
Does anyone know how often the adcom meets? I hope I can get my decision as quickly as you guys did.

I remember one of the adcom people on interview day told us that they get a good amount of movement and it starts sometime in April. Don't quote me on this though.

Yea on interview day i heard like half of their class gets in off the WL... again not sure how concrete these details are... but would certainly hope its true!

Good luck to you guys! I've been complete since August and received a rejection email yesterday as well. I think they are sifting through a small pool of applicants for April interviews, so hang in there!

Send them anything you can to set yourself apart from the last few!
