I'd imagine sending it to the general admissions address and asking them to add it to your file would make the most sense. That way, the whole committee sees it. Someone else can confirm this.

Should LOI be sent via snail mail or is e-mail okay?

I'm unfortunately located in Vancouver, BC, Canada -- pretty far from most places.. I have an upcoming interview at SLU at the end of January.. Has anyone had luck with "in the area" emails? Obviously I will not be THAT close but it would definitely make my life simpler, if I was still under consideration by Feinberg. Thoughts??

Judging from some previous posts in this thread, they don't seem to be receptive to "in the area" emails. Also, there might not be any more interview spots left at this time... (I haven't heard anything either.)

And so it is.. I gave them a call this morning and they said they would not consider in the area requests. She did check to see what my application status was, but didn't tell me anything other than what's on the application website.

Does anyone know how long the office breaks for the holidays?

From last year's thread, someone got a response on the 23rd. and the next response was middle January.
So, I wouldn't expect to hear anything for a bit...

Does anyone have any idea when would be a good time to send a post-interview LOI?

Unless you have an update to go with, I would wait until you hear if you're deferred or not. Might tip some scales in your favor if they're undecided at that point. Though it couldn't hurt if you send it earlier, I really doubt they'll complain if you want to send them a love letter. 👍

Does anybody know when Northwestern awards merit scholarships?

Last year, people got them after deferred candidates were given decisions (in March).

I think as soon as you have anything significant to update them with - I interviewed on the 14th and I'm hoping to send something by New Years. Good luck!

Has anyone whose application has been complete since September heard anything yet? I'm still waiting on an interview. After flipping through the pages of this thread quickly, it looks like most interview offers have been August. Maybe just wishful thinking though...

I was complete mid-September and got the invite almost two months ago. Don't give up hope though!

Have any accepted students received any snail mail from Feinberg?
I just received the emails... nothing by snail mail.
Thanks!

same here! no snail mail, just the email from dean wallace and then the email confirming your decision to accept a place in the class.

I have been complete since mid-Sept; sent a recent update that was acknowledged. But still no interview decision :S

It seems like there has been a shortage of interview invitations for a while now. Does anyone know for how long they keep coming? I know NU doesn't interview that many, just wondering how much hope I should hang onto...

This may be a dumb question, but does anyone know when is a good time to start looking for apartments downtown? Like, I'm not 100% set on Feinberg just yet, but I want to make sure I'm at least staying ahead of the game. I've worked as a resident assistant in university housing for the past three years, so I have no idea when apartment hunting is supposed to happen. Any current students able to shed some light?

I didn't choose to live with a roommate from my class, but as far as timing goes, this is way early. I got an email from FSM around April with a google doc where incoming students who want a roommate can sign up to look for an apt together. I think some people find roommates during 2nd look weekend which was also in April. I myself ended up traveling to Chicago in June to find an apt in person and there were still good units left. Another crucial thing - create an FSM facebook group for your class! Not only has that been a lifesaver once school began (esp with the new curriculum, we were all confused together 🙂), but people started to post up some get together's or roommate requests there too over the summer. Good luck!

Thanks for the information. And yes, we already have a Facebook page for our class. Thanks for giving me an excuse to repost the link for everyone. 😉

I interviewed during the week of 11/12 and have not received an update on the status of my application. It has now been over 6 weeks since I interviewed and I know the holidays have likely interrupted the decision process. Should I email the admissions committee or just wait?

It looks like NU is sending out invites again.

II just now. Secondary submitted on 10/31.

Hi, any current students that could give a better perspective on NU's PBL please? Feinberg is my top choice but I am a little lost about PBL.

There were maybe 4 dates in January and a few in early to mid Feb. The latest one I saw was Feb. 13th.

Is Northwestern cool with pre-interview updates?

The wait is killing me!

Come on NW, send out your next round of acceptances/deferrals! 😀

They go out about once every other Thursday. There was a round just before break so I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't another wave until next Thursday, though I could certainly be wrong.

Anyone have any idea when/if accepted students will get some sort of acceptance/information package? Or when 2nd look is taking place?

Has Northwestern been rejecting pre-interview or do they string you along till the end?

Hey amigos, I was deferred til march and I just got a certiphi request and I'm trying to figure out which school sent it. Any accepted or deferred get a certiphi request right now?

Deferred and no Certiphi request. Cue SDN neuroticism :scared: hahaha

These individuals also hold multiple acceptances. For example, the quoted individual you have there is accepted to Loyola. Loyola also does Certiphi Background Checks.

Any idea when the last set of II go out? Is NU receptive to LOI preinterview?
