Hey All! Just wanted to congratulate everyone who's been accepted so far and I look forward to joining you in 2013! I know many more of you will be joining us soon. I've created a Facebook page for us since there isn't an accepted community on SDN as far as I can tell. If you've been accepted please join me at http://www.facebook.com/UKCOM2017
Look forward to meeting you all!

Josh

Cool, thanks.

FYI, might want to fix the front page: it says, "Let you fellow classmates know" instead of your fellow classmates.

Awesome, Congratulations!

When you walked in the conference room at the interview did you sit on the right or left side?

Sat on the right hand side as you entered the conf. room, right at the corner near the door.

As for the call, keep in mind that the interviewers were mostly Dr.'s or students, so you very well might not get a call till 5:00 or later, depending on when they get the free time.

Yeah, I figured if I wait it might be late tonight. I think I'll wait until it get close to 5pm. Both of my interviewers were doctors and they are probably both at work all day today.

I sat on the right side too, but I was up close to the front.

Why UK over UoL?

Are you in State?

Thanks,

In state

For personal reasons, I spent most of my life in Louisville with exception of undergrad and other years as a young child, so I want to go away. I also went to UK and have a good network of student and faculty in and out of the medical school among some other things

Might have given away the little bit of anonymity I've got

Congrats to everyone accepted!

Still waiting for a call :xf: If I interviewed mid-September and my status has said Admissions Committee Review Completed for about three weeks, what do we think my chances are?

Also could last name potential play a part in how soon your interviewer calls you?

Thanks everyone!

You've got the same status as most of us. Half the people on here that found out just went ahead and called the office. If you can't stand waiting any longer, give them a call. I think the work schedule of the interviewers has more to do with it than our last names.

Makes sense, thanks. I really don't want to call ... I think receiving a call from one of my interviewers would be so cool. Good luck!

Yeah, part of me wants to know right this second, lol. But I'm holding out as long as I can.

Did you interview on the 15th too?

Congratulations!!!

So did you call or did you wait?

You should call the office! Your interviewer may be busy so why not call and get to know the descision! They are super nice in the admissions office!

Partly for the fun of the anticipation and partly for the fear of total rejection. 😀

Anyone know what time the office closes for the day?

Just FYI, I was accepted through early decision, and my status on the secondary application page has since then stayed as ' Admissions Committee Review Completed '. Congrats to all who got accepted today! Can't wait to meet you guys!

I caved and called....

.... and got the answering machine, and no I didn't leave a message.

😕

Called about an hour ago. ACCEPTED!!!!. OOS, mid-september interview.

I didn't receive a call all day, so for those of you waiting, there's no harm in calling/e-mailing them for a status update. I'm from the west coast and Robin had previously told me I could call and find out "due to the time difference". Maybe they make a lot of the calls in the morning, which would be way too early for me to be awake way out here. Just speculation.

Did the office close at 4pm EST?

Just called again and got the answering machine, again.

🙁

I called one last time right before 5pm. They said I'll be getting a letter and I can set up a meeting to find out why, in case I have any other interviews or in case I want to apply next year.

Can I ask what your status says? Anyone else.. What does your status say and what news have you received?

That sucks Jas, but good luck in the rest of your application cycle.

Also, have most of the people who called the admissions office earlier today received a call from their interviewer yet?

Nope still haven't gotten a call from the interviewer, just the call to admissions this morning, would really like to get that call soon though

University of Kentucky vs. Louisville: Why choose UK over UoL?

Haha I really hope the office of admissions wasn't lying to me in the morning and did tell the interviewer not to call! I second the paranoia

Ok thanks, what are the chances that the office notified your interviewer to not call you since you had already called and made aware of your acceptance? I'm just paranoid that since I have yet to hear anything and my status is review completed that I'm flat out rejected. This wait is the worst!

Didn't the office already tell you that you were accepted?

All of the people who were accepted today had Admissions Committee Review Completed, not just me.

If anyone has a interview date that they are going to cancel please private message me. I would like an earlier date than I have now.

Accepted! Got a call early this morning but due to time difference I was asleep. Ended up getting a second call later in the afternoon. Interviewed 9/11, super excited!

Congratulations to all accepted!

You guys will love it there.

So if a second person is going to cancel I would really appreciate a message too. If I could get mine in before the end of this year that would be fantastic.

RPLP people find out tomorrow if they get in. I think I am dieing inside right now waiting for that phone call at 4-5 pm tomorrow.

Good Luck! Anyone know how long it takes for them to send out the actual acceptance packages in snail mail?

Good news to those who are waiting to interview in January. When I called, the administrator from UK said that as a result of the additional 18 spots for the 2013 entry class, there should still be seats available for those who will be interviewing in January. Good luck to those still waiting to interview at UK!

Do out of state qualify for instate tuition after the first year?

Thank you for the good morning news for those of us too timid to call admissions for all of our questions 🙂 👍

Package might be an overstatement haha. All I got was a letter and a paper to sign. It was set to arrive only a few days after I found out, but got lost in the mail and I didn't get it for a couple weeks (called and got it virtually) by the time it actually arrived in the mail the deadline to accept my position had passed so I'm glad I called them haha. You should probably expect 5-10 business days considering there are likely more to send for Reg. Adm. than was for ED.
