Interviewed on March 12 and not out of committee yet 🙁 I am dying of stress and anxiety. Please Ms. Walk if you are out there give me some good news. And Happy Good Friday and Easter to everyone. I just want to be part of Howard family and become an awesome doc!

did they tell you that you are being considered for parp or that you are starting parp mid may? Did you get an email saying you were being considered for PARP? I did- what is the chance that I won't be accepted into PARP- ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I got the out of committee, then a letter saying I was being considered by PARP. Then on Friday I got an email with a general acceptance letter/PARP registration form.

It was a tough decision, but I just withdrew my acceptance. Good Luck Everybody !!!
 
Does anyone know if Howard is still offering interviews or are they done for the year?
 
I emailed them last week and got a response saying that I'm still being considered for an interview :/
 
I got an II on Friday afternoon, but didn't really get a chance to read it until today. It was invitation for an interview on the 22nd or 23rd (today or tomorrow) and in parentheses it said (last days) next to those dates. I won't be attending bc it's too short notice. I don't know if those are really the last interview dates.

I'm not applying until 2015 but I've been keeping up with this thread for advice! Good luck to everyone!!! Can someone tell me what PARP is??
 
Interviewed here last week and loved it. The sense of family and community is so strong. I'd be honored to get an acceptance!!
 
So I noticed admissions went from reviewing January interviews straight to March interviewees. Were there interviews in February?
 
I got accepted for PARP starting in May...but what is the Facebook group it would be cool to meet all the ppl that will be attending Hu
 
So basically PARP, is a summer program to help guide you into medical school? You don't actually apply for it, you just are "selected"? Is this right? And if you do well, you are in the next class, or is that not guaranteed either. Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I apply. Thanks!

Yeah, it's a conditional acceptance for that years class. If you are deemed to have had satisfactory performance, you are part of the entering class. You are selected for the program after you interview.

Ohhh okay! That's cool! Awesome! Well I've absolutely fallen in love with this school after visiting this past week at the conference and I am definitely applying! Thanks for the info!
 
The program is only for applicants who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, however. I believe that is a stipulation for the grant the program receives.

How long does it take between being out of committee and actually getting a decision?
 
No I didn't get an out of committee email yet. The wait is juts killing me. Interviewed 3/12 so I guess soon

It's okay. I interviewed 3/12, as well. It looks like they've recently gotten to 3/11 (last week), so I'm thinking we should be hearing something soon.
 
Is each "out of committee" email the same, or do they vary a bit? For example, does each say something like we may call to hear the decision upon receiving the next email?

Lol! I was wondering the same thing too! I got the out of committee email too!! I am hoping for some good news!!!
 
So I seen the MSAR data and it shows the 10th percentile GPA is 2.94 overall and 2.7 science with an MCAT of 24... Does this mean that there is not a real 3.0gpa cut off. Because with 6400 applicants and them only interviewing 300 surely more had higher stats than those. Just curious as to how Howard's select to for interviews.
 
Hi Everyone!

HUCM first year here! First I want to congratulate all those who have been accepted! And to those waiting - It's not over till its over! A couple of my classmates were accepted one day before orientation!

Secondly, to all the PARP-ers, if you are interested in subleasing for the duration of program, my awesome roommate and I have the perfect place! I'm in pain waiting to find out if I will be accepted into parp as it's getting closet and closer...!
 
Am I making this up or did Ms. Walk said on the interview day if you are rejected you will simply get a letter they wont ask you to call? Interviewed on 3/12
