2013-2014 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does anyone know whether RFU offers scholarships to new incoming students? I know SUNY Buffalo offers some after students fill out a RWJF application, but I wasn't sure about RFU.
I know one person who got one, and as far as I know he got it without applying or anything so it does happen, but I'm not sure how common it is.

I have neither been small pooled nor rejected. I think I have a few good updates up my sleeve this weekend.
Do they accept updates? I was told that they do not allow updates unless you are invited for an interview???

No, unfortunately they don't accept them until after interviewing/being waitlisted

Been complete forever and yet no words. Anyone know when CMS actually fill their class by? Any possibility that they are already filled?

I've mentioned this earlier in the thread, but two years ago, I was extended an interview offer in late March, interviewed in mid-April, and was accepted outright (no waitlist) in May. The class is not full, but we receive around 10,000 applications, which might explain the lack of action taken on your application specifically. Best of luck.

Thanks Tantacles. Any chance your admission from 2 years ago was before or after May 15th?

I didn't receive an interview until February last year, interviewed in March, was waitlisted, and ultimately accepted. So don't lose hope yet guys. They do receive an extremely large number of applicants to sift through

Interviewed on 1/10 and currently waiting nervously. Any idea when the results be out?

They generally get back pretty quickly: i.e. within a month. If they don't, however, rest assured that it's not bad news. How fast your results are given to you is dependent on myriad factors that are not in the control of the admissions committee.

You give me hope. Fingers crossed for good news...

They seem to usually give out acceptances or post-interview holds (in my case) around the 20th of each month. All of my updates have been on Fridays, so I'm thinking this Friday a batch of notices will go out.

I submitted my primary on 8/24/13. I was then verified on 10/09/13. I was complete on 11/6/13.

small pooled today. submitted my primary back in august and my secondary in like September.....what does this mean? I've never experienced this at any of the other schools I've applied to.......

That happened to me as well when I was applying. I think that you have to be small pooled before you can receive an interview, but I could be wrong. I was small pooled before my II came

Complete in August. Sent two emails asking for status update and each time was advised still in the "screening process" and it could take several more weeks. Not small pooled yet so things are not looking good.

I interviewed the same day! We must've met. All I've heard back was:

"Upon recommendation of the Chicago Medical School Admission Committee, your application for admission has been placed on hold.

A hold status means that the committee has neither accepted nor rejected your application for admission at this time. Applicants who are placed on hold continue to be reviewed by committee members monthly."
I got the same exact message today.. for the THIRD time. Got it on 11/22, 12/20, and now today. This is getting ridiculous!

Did you send any update letters? That may help. Their meetings are usually in the middle of the month and they release results around the 20th, give or take

They only accept updates post interview correct?

Same here! Same exact interview date, and only response was the response to my thank you note as well haha.
This week is the 7th week of silence, didn't they say they'll give us an update 6-8 weeks

Okay, so I didn't imagine that?!

Edit- yea, now I'm trying to figure out who you were... Haha

Do you guys know how many acceptance are sent out each cycle out of the 600 interviewers?

Haha I as well hmmm. As I recall there were a lot of folks from around the Midwest and California!
And I feel like they skipped over our date or something , considering people from dec 10th have heard back.

I was the annoyingly talkative guy who was high-fiving random people and who knew our tour guide.

They probably just skipped us b/c we were so awesome and they're currently trying to find more money to offer us full scholarships. I mean...there really isn't any other logical reason to make us wait. haha

I'm going to call on Monday. I really need to know all my options sooner rather than later. I'll post whatever they say.

GET IN. I WANT YOU TO COME HERE. Please.

Haha you're right, what other reason could there be?
You're the one the stayed with the tour guide right? Haha you were funny I actually sat by you and talked to you a few times. We were saying how we wish we wouldn't get a 3rd interview lol.
I was the only one with a skirt on that day if you remember that and blonde.

And thanks, I called them yesterday and no one picked up. I'll email them Monday to see what's going on.

That's right- I was that guy. I do remember you!! I sat to your left (sometimes separated by a girl in a pant suit). I def remember that 3rd interview conversation with you...
