Congrats! When you find out? Were you a former BMS student or a current BMS student?

Also, are BMS students notified the same way as us normal applicants who did not go through the BMS program?

I just finished BMS year. I dont know how external applicants are notified, but I was notified by Email today.

If you dont mind me asking, when was this email sent to you (time)? I am asking because I have been on long road of silence as well. It is making me extremely nervous.

9:50 am central time. Most emails out for acceptances go out after 9 am

I see.

Since BMS recently finish their courses, dose that mean bulk of you guys are notified today then? If true, than most of us external applicants still waiting will be notified after the BMS?

No, they are not finished giving our class acceptances/rejections. They will probably be done with our class by the end of this week because some students were complaining that we need to deal with housing and moving in/out, so we need a decision soon. I do not know anyone in my class who has been rejected yet. I would think since this week they are busy giving out decisions to our class that external applicants would have to wait. But maybe they are looking at all the remaining applicants together, I really do not know.

Hey TonySoprano. Were you put on wait list like many of us on the 9th of this month? I am curious if the BMS applicants received the same bulk wait list email like many of the direct applicants on the 9th of May. BTW congrats on your acceptance. Hope I can be in your shoes sometime soon….

No, no BMS students have been put on the waitlist yet, but every year there are a few that will be put on waitlist. Most BMS decisions are just straight accept or reject. I think they will be done with BMS decisions this week or next since final grades will be in probably by wednesday.

You got in today? Were other BMSers accepted today too? I thought most of them went out last week and then more will go out at the end of this week. Makes no sense that they would just randomly give out 1 acceptance today lol.

I agree. I have not heard anyone else who got in from BMS today. Are you sure you got in today not last week? Someone asked the program director of BMS (Riblon) and confirmed that there was no more acceptance sent out since last friday. I'm not sure how you got it today...

Are you a BMS student as well or is this someone a friend? Any other BMS students out there care to share their status too?

Do you know usually when off-campus housing options become no longer available? Usually in my undergrad, all the good off-campus housing is taken and/or reserved by May-June for the academic year starting in August.

There are plenty of off-campus apartments in the area. You shouldn't have too much of a problem. I reserved mine in late June when I was coming.

It may be that the person you're asking isn't well-informed. I wouldn't believe anything you hear unless it comes directly from the admissions committee, which typically communicates with no one.

How are pre-clinical lectures usually presented? PowerPoint slides? Pdf? Are they uploaded before lecture to preview in advance? It might vary depending on who is teaching what, but I want to have an overall picture. If it were asked before, my apologies.

In addition, have you seen any orchestra or musical ensembles (student groups) around CMS? I didn't see any based on the information I have, but I want to ask a current student.

Yes I'm a BMS student and I got in last friday. We have a BMS group on facebook and whenever there's another decision coming out, somebody would inform there or even on BMS forum on SDN. I haven't heard any news or anyone who got in on Monday except TonySoprano. Ironically, many BMSers don't seem to trust a lot of things this person says from his previous posts. Unless they sent out only 1 accceptance secretely on Monday without letting anyone in the BMS program including the program director know, I wouldn't believe there was any acceptance on Monday.

There's almost always a powerpoint up, and many lecturers are nice enough to also convert it into a PDF. They're usually up before class so that you can pre-read if that's how your brain works. Also, lectures are recorded, so you'll be able to choose the style of learning that works for you.

The one musical group I'm aware of, which was a lot of fun to be a part, is the Pacemakers! It's an a cappella group on campus. Keep in mind that you'll also be able to start up any group you want. We do have some musicians and singers (hello!) on campus, so I'm certain there are people who would want to play/sing with you!

Hey all:
I'm looking for a (male) roommate for the fall at Woodlands on Green Bay (walking distance from RFUMS). I'm an M1 open to any incoming RFU students. The rent is $650 month for one bedroom in a 2B/2Ba apartment. It's a year lease starting from August. msg me for details!!

In addition to the pacemakers there is a group called Jam that is made up of musicians playing various instruments. They meet up and jam every now and then, as well as playing during events such as St Baldrick's

Have you checked in the Facebook class of 2018 facebook group yet? There are a bunch of people looking for roommates.
 
Since January, I only heard of one post-interview rejection on this forum. I wonder if the admission committee just wait list everyone and then send a bulk email of rejection at the end? Any insight to how they do it for last year applicants?

ACCEPTED!!! And definitely attending. Here are the answers to the questions I always want to ask when someone posts an acceptance:
Interview 1/8, on hold 1/24, waitlist 5/9.
Sent two letters of interest and three new letters of recommendation while on hold.
GPA = 3.6, MCAT = 31 (9P, 10V, 12B)

When was the acceptance email received? Congratz!!
 
Anyone have a suggestion on housing??! I'm not sure I'll be able to fly/drive out to find a place this summer. Looking for somewhere quiet, budget friendly, cat friendly and possible roommate.
 
Accepted today! I am a Canadian and non-traditional applicant. I received the hold/wait list email on May 9th and I got the acceptance email at 5:25 pm. I am hoping others on the wait list hear back soon.
 
Does anyone know when the first day of orientation is? Do they have any requirements for laptops?
