Hi , congrats and good luck on your interview. May I ask when you received the ii? I've been on hold and am anxiously waiting to hear to some good news in terms of a ii 🤔
 
I got the II on 12/31 for 2/4.
It's a really big one for me since I just got rejected from Upstate. Downstate's been my top choice for a while so I hope they still have spots to fill.

And good luck to you. I'm hoping that more people start getting some II's here, it seems like so many people in general have yet to be accepted anywhere.

As an OOS who interviewed on Dec 2nd....i know for certain i won't be the first to receive the snail mail (if any) because of distance as opposed to someone who lives in NYC. So I am giving the responsibility to my fellow potential classmates [keeping it positive!] to check the mail for me essentially :poke:...but then again, there were a lot of OOS during that day :thinking:

Put on hold for spring review. Interviewed 10/22. Finally got a response! Not terribly crushed. I was accepted to Upstate and I think I would rather be there anyway.

Gl! All of the SUNYs are quite awesome 🙂 I think it would be a very difficult decision for anyone if accepted to multiple SUNYs!

Don't get me wrong, it would be a great experience to serve people in Brooklyn. I just don't know if the lifestyle of living in Brooklyn is for me. Which is why I'm probably going to withdraw my application for all of you ^.^

Don't worry, in the end it's all about what will make us happy/what makes a good fit - in part, we are interviewing the schools too! (well..sorta :laugh:)

As a native Brooklynite, I am banking on Downstate at this point.

my mom handed me an envelope that was a bit stuffed, my heart stopped for a second until i saw the mailing address on the envelope..sigh
 
Has anyone who interviewed late November, early December heard anything yet?
 
Has anyone who submitted their grades after Downstate requested them heard any form of a reply? Confirmation or ii?
 
Do you guys think that it would be a good idea to write a letter of intent if you got hold for spring consideration post interview?

Due to changing my address late after I moved (stupid on my part), my letter was sent to my old place last month, and was just sent out again on Friday. Someone got a rejection that way and I'm so scared 🙁

But I interviewed 11/5, and I think my decision was made towards the end of Dec.

I interviewed a few weeks ago and sent email afterwards that my address has been changed. I had no confirmation email back. My AMCAS has been updated accordingly for a while, but I am not sure whether they still have my correct address.

Would it be unfavorable if I send another email or call them?

As soon as you update the address in your AMCAS, it automatically gets sent to the school, so they have it. If it's been 8-10 weeks, you should call and explain the situation, because if they sent a decision you might not have received it. The office will leave a note for the admissions committee, saying you have received no info so far. But when I called, they did say it would typically take 6-8 weeks to get a decision!

Also I would call! I think people get too worried about sounding "unfavorable." Obviously don't call them everyday, but I can't imagine them getting mad about a student just asking for info.

I got that e-mail, too. I am in the pre-interview stage, have yet to hear anything about my status.

I e-mailed them yesterday about a new recommendation letter I sent in, and re-iterated my interest in the school. I thought this e-mail was an automated response to that. I guess it was a mass e-mail?
 
Hmm I also got that message, I think it was a mass pre-interview email because I haven't sent any updates yet. Complete in late September. Hopefully it means we still have a decent shot at an II! (Tehe wishful thinking)
 
Is anyone having trouble checking the status of their application??
 
Interviewed 12/9 and just got the spring hold email...OOS, 34...was really hoping for an acceptance...oh well more waiting. Can we send updates other than the requested spring grades?

I got a status update email but it didn't contain any link or info on what the update is. Since I'm URM, I then got a second email from office of minority affairs congratulating me for getting an interview invite, however, I'm not sure how to go about scheduling one and their office is closed so I can't contact them.
 
I didn't get any update e-mail 🙁

I haven't interviewed-- all I've gotten was the request for Spring grades and I haven't heard anything since August :/
 
I guess it was just a mass email out to people whose applications actually haven't been read yet
 
Are they actually rejecting people post-interview? And is there a general consensus that Spring Hold is essentially a wait-list?

Someone got a rejection letter in the mail post interview.

I just passed the 8 week post interview mark but that includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and some snow storms and no one after 11/20 seems to have heard anything either

Just call them tomorrow and ask when your interview is scheduled for. When I was invited they sent me an email with my interview date listed and asked me to email them back to confirm I would be attending.

Someone who interviewed 12/9 was just put on hold for spring review.

I've done two mock interviews with a student from UCLA med and a student at UCI med, and they both said I was a decent interviewer. Does anyone have any advice?

MCAT: 33
GPA cum: 3.7
GPA science: 3.68

Your GPA is slightly on the lower side. The decision is based on the whole application, so it is possible that your interview is not an issue. At the same time, perhaps not showing enough enthusiasm or minor intangible things like that could have affected your interview impression at the end of the day.

All I can say is to ace your interview with air-tight confidence.
