Just got wailisted! Not sure how to feel right now... Does anybody know how many students were wailisted during the last application cycle?

what was the time stamp on your email, if you don't mind me asking 🙂

Any correlation between when you hear of a wait list decision and acceptances off of the waitlist (e.g, are the people wait listed first the ones who received earlier wait list acceptances as compared to people who get them later or vice-versa)?

Geisel's waitlist isn't ranked, so I wouldn't guess so...

I emailed them asking if they could tell me the amount of ppl on the waitlist and they replied with they don't know, since decisions are still going out and they do not know how many of those waitlisted will actually stay on the list. As for how one gets selected off the waitlist: the file in the waitlisted email said "If and when places develop, all candidates who have chosen to retain a position on the Waiting List will be reviewed and many factors will be considered by the Wait List Committee." Well see, good luck to all in this wait period....

this 5 month post-interview wait for a decision is feelin extraaaaa long right now as I wait for a wait list or rejection...sigh. Just tell me! I can take it!

Hopefully it may mean you're teetering between an acceptance or wait list and they're waiting for more offer refusals before putting you on either list vs those of us well buried on the waitlist

So I guess the rest of us aren't hearing back today either. :/ sigh

There's still time! Plus, I'm trying to convince myself that they're taking longer with us because we may be accepted outright.
I must admit I had that thought yesterday... in the middle of my study time. It obliterated my focus for a good 30 minutes :/

So at this point is the assumption that all pre-waitlist acceptances have been released?

from the ridiculous amount of time I have spent looking at this thread and the last two years, there have been no reported acceptances that were not acceptances handed out a month after that person interviewed

People reported on the threads of the 2013 and 2014 cycle that they were accepted in March/early april (and these were people that had been waiting a longggg time)

Waitlisted just now... could be worse, although seems like their waitlist must be pretty big!

Does anyone know what "all necessary financial aid documents" means? Just the FAFSA?

Waitlisted just now! Time stamp on e-mail was 2:44 PM. Interviewed in mid February. Now I get to wait some more lol

i remember dino telling us we needed a whole bunch of stuff, but of course i forget now...

i don't know why schools don't just put their financial aid presentations on powerpoint for us to take with us, it would make things 100x easier

Geisel has their own financial aid application, and the long "needs access" application that is like the FAFSA, but more intense. They gave us the sheet of "what to do for fin aid" at the interview, along with the presentation by Dino Koff.

Thank you!! I will have to go dig up that sheet.

That's not necessarily true...I was accepted just two and a half weeks after my interview. I do understand your frustration though, BU employs a similarly long and hellish deferral/wait list system. Though the wait is unfortunate, its meant to bring some equality to the admissions process between candidates who interview in August and those who interview in March. Had you interviewed later in the season, you might find yourself thankful that Geisel admits the way it does.
His/her point is that the trend seems that you are accepted soon after your interview, or held until after all interviews are completed. I agree about the equality process though, as a February interviewee.

Exactly, thanks Chachi. My only point is that there might be acceptances yet to come. But I have no idea, that is just speculation/wishful thinking. I was not challenging the fairness of the process (at least with that comment, I have with other comments) I would argue that BU does it much much better with a January and March date for post-interview responses (all at the same day and at same time). That process what much more humane, in my opinion.

Waitlisted this afternoon as well. Mid-Feb interview. Anyone count the total number of WLs in this thread yet?
