If I remember correctly, at my interview day they used phrasing somewhere along the lines of "we don't invite anyone to interview with the intention of rejecting them". However, according to last years thread, a decent amount of people get rejected post-interview. Maybe people whose interviews demonstrate that their goals don't align with Georgetowns mission? Who knows.

Ah you're right, that's what the wording was like. I suppose that leaves the door open for outright rejections after all. Good luck, hopefully we hear good news soon!

are they rolling admissions then? so better to interview earlier rather than later?

Yes, rolling admissions. However, last year they didn't go exactly by interview date as some people who interviewed the second and third week received a decision before those that interviewed the first week.
 
Completed here 10/3! I'm an underdog (LizzyM 66)...hope my lateness doesn't hurt me too much!
 
I am interviewing on the 18th of November. I have booked two nights at Savoy Suites (Mon/Tues) with two queen beds. If anyone interested in one/both nights let me know via PM and split room charge. I arrive around 7:30 Monday night and leave 6am Wed. I am a nontrad guy if that helps.
 
Rejected. Complete 8/27. Should have saved the $130 for a nice steak dinner.
 
Rejected today. 34, 3.7, tons of research and ECs. Zero II's so far and one rejection.
 
Also rejected today, 10/10. LizzyM 73-74. OOS, Complete 8/27. 3rd rejection with zero IIs.

But in a turn of events got my first II this afternoon to a dif school!
 
Sorry to hear about the rejections to a lot of you. Head ups, the cycle is still young!
 
Do rejections come as e-mails or just an update in the portal?
 
Rejections are via portal, but email as well - email states only that you have a decision and you need to login to see it
 
anybody have an interview soon and have not heard back from student hosting?
 
I received the secondary on the same day that my AMCAS was verified.

I emailed them after not hearing back after about a week and received an email saying that they have less hosts than normal this year and are going to do their best.
I have already booked a hotel instead as I don't want to be relying on vague assurances when flying in. I am sure they are doing their best, but it does sound like they may be overwhelmed this year for hosting interviewees.
 
I'm sorry this may sound stupid but who the heck is LizzyM and why do people speak about her when talking about their stats?
 
More on topic, had my interview here today and it went well. Friendly staff and lovely students. Very impressive school and I think my interview went well! They said they will let us know in 8 weeks time or less

Quick question: I wanted to know if anyone could advise me on how I can go about submitting an update letter? I am having trouble navigating the portal. Is it expected to just email them directly via their admissions email address? Please and thanks! I appreciate the help.

Still got a long way to go. I waited two months until I got an II. You've got great stats and and good ECs. You'll be fine bud 🙂
 
anyone went to the optional breakfast? i saw on previous threads that it's from 8:30 to 9am, but i don't see this on the pdf schedule that they give you? and where would the breakfast be?

I'm pretty sure they're not doing the optional breakfast this year. They didn't have it at my interview.
 
Complete 9/2 and still no news. Based on the complete dates of other people that have heard IIs or rejections, I feel like they could review my app any minute. Anyone with any news from after my complete date??

Complete 9/4 and I'll be interviewing here next month
 
Other than "Application Status: Submitted" I am not seeing anything else (being reviewed...etc). Is this normal? I was complete a little after 9/5
 
Did anyone who has/had an interview invite sign up for housing with a student? I signed up for that a few weeks ago and they have yet to get back to me on that, and my interview is coming up in a week and a half! What should I do?
 
Just a heads up. I stayed at the Georgetown university hotel. It was supper close and a VERY easy walk to the medical school. Definitely made my stay a breeze. Also, I told them I was interviewing and got a discount.

Also, a lot of the students live within a block or two of the medical dental building. My hosts were one block over, and it was free. 🙂

But wouldn't you have to check out by the morning? Where would you leave your things to go to the interview? Unless you stay 2 days at the hotel?
