Does any one know howard start date for first day of classes for 2016, orientations days?
 
Awesome. I remember you were a little worried about that a while back. Glad you heard back. I did as well and now in the wait for an II.
 
does the status page in the portal say "interview, not scheduled yet" for everyone?
 
I wasn't complete until last Friday. It seems like general wait time is 3ish weeks? I'm pissed I applied so damn early. Hoping for good news this week.

Lol it's crazy how backwards it is right? The people who submitted early seem to have the longest wait. Howard's process is so random.

Mine says "interview, not scheduled yet" but my interview is scheduled. So make sure you're checking your spam mail for interview invites b/c my secondary was in my junk mail for a while before I noticed it.

10:09 AM central time. I wouldn't take any heed to that though because a few weeks ago, I received a II from another school at 5 something PM on a Friday...go figure..

I would strongly suggest going about your life trying to forget about all of these decisions. At the very least pick a particular day or days of the week that you check. Makes life easier.

I have been trying to get my hands on that information too. It's not on the Howard calendar yet.

I have an interesting situation. I applied edp to Meharry and was released on October 4th. So my primary application was complete back in June. I proceeded to apply to Howard and a few other medical schools on the 6th. I got the II email yesterday and I submitted it tody.

Wait a minute.....You submitted your secondary 3 days ago and got an interview invite 2 days later?

Just want to point out.. that as of October 12, 2015..
anyone on here who says they have an interview invite is LYING!
I don't know why people feel the need to lie and try to bring other people's spirits down & what not smh.
My friend attends Howard and she said that she was complete in October, but didn't get invited to interview until FEBRUARY .. and she admits that this school takes its time when reviewing applicants..
Howard Secondaries weren't even available until like 8/17 and there were people who claimed to have received it beforehand. it's truly a SHAME that you pre-meds are soooooo deceptive. Just want to make everyone anxious I guess

What makes you think they're lying?
 
And I'm specifically referring to an interview invite with Howard lol. Their turn around time is extremely slow.

I know what you wrote lol, but if secondaries came out on 8/17 or whatever, it's extremely possible that people have received IIs. Just because your friend didn't receive an II until February, it doesn't mean it's going to be like that for everyone. So unless you have proof that these people are lying, I don't see what there is for me to believe that they are. Did you speak to the admissions office?

Wow this is so unnecessary. It is very possible that people have received II's from Howard. First you said your friend was complete in October while most of the people who have stated they received interviews were complete in August, 2 months before your friend. Second, most schools (even though they say they do) don't interview based on who submitted first. They interview highest gpa and Mcat and those that fit their mission the best. So your friend receiving an interview in February is not proof that everyone that said they received and interview thus far is lying.

I received my secondary 8/12. I believe people do have interview invites. The cycle can be different for each applicant. Your friends cycle was different doesn't mean everyone's own has to be the same.
 
@Kea K Some people have a quick turnaround due to being competitive, while others who have lower stats fit into the "look later" pile.
GWU does this. You can read up on all of the holds they've placed. Adcoms have the ability to look at certain applicants later and decide to hold them for the time being.

Guys, we don't need to call her/this user out for making a misguided assumption/statement. Instead, you could've just told her about holds and such.
Isn't this forum for helping and educating others when they have the wrong info?

Current student at Howard.

1. People are not "lying" about interview invites, nor is it correct to say that Howard's turnaround is always slow. I got an II a week after I submitted my secondary when I applied, and that was in October. So that's false.

2. Can we not bring the negativity here? This is a public forum, and frankly, all of the bickering doesn't look good. There's always a way to say things without being aggressive. Especially things that aren't fact but assumptions. We are all adults here.

I actually do have an interview scheduled for 11/3. I already had the secondary questions done before they officially sent me the secondary app. I literally turned it around in like a day or two after they sent me the official secondary app. I'd be happy to forward you the interview confirmation email if you'd like.

So Howard says a 61.5 percentile is competitive. Does anyone know what that translates to on the new mcat scale?
 
I don't understand why we continue to feed the troll. She clearly has a mistaken understanding of how the process works and is making judgements based on a friend's anecdotal experience. Don't waste your time explaining yourself or posting about interviews - she's made up her mind that we're all lying liars who lie.
 
Did anyone who was complete in october get an interview yet, or is it still August guys.
 
I'm a late september person and haven't gotten anything but a complete email and silence. I'm still hoping though.
 
I've been verified since over a month ago and still haven't received a secondary...
