Does Ohio State do pre-interview rejections?
Took about 2 weeks to hear! Interviewed on 10/21 got notified 11/5
Can anyone speak to a C/o 2020 FB group? Trying to find one but I don't see it :'(
For those who interviewed what did they say was post interview acceptance rate?
Complete 8/10 and still no II. I'm an IS applicant... is there no hope for me?

Lucky you! Chicago AND OhioInterviewing here next week as well! Really excited!
I'm interviewing here next week. How much of the tour is outdoors? The forecast doesn't look too terrible, but if it's rainy/slushy will I want boots?
Excellent. Saves me room in my carry-on!Very little. A quick walk across a one lane street to get to the anatomy building, and again to get to the medical center. A max of ten minutes outside total, and not even consecutively.
If it's really bad out, tour guides are advised to take tunnels to avoid the weather, but next week is not expected to be very cold or have any rain.
does anyone know of OSU's interview dates in December/if they have a waiting list for an earlier dates? I just figured I'm local to the area and am scheduled for mid january but figured I'm so close i could fill in earlier if needed 🙂
There are only three interview days left in December before we go on break for the holidays and resume in January. Suffice it to say, the likelihood of someone withdrawing from one of those interview days is very low. We do not have waiting lists for earlier interview days. There are many OSU alumni/current students who have applied who are considered if a last minute opening needs to be filled.
You'll just have to be patient and wait for your interview date. If it makes you feel any better, my interview date was in late January and I got in just fine.
How far along would you say you are in filling the class?
9/2 sameComplete 8/18, silence....
7/25 same 🙁9/2 same
+17/25 same 🙁
For those of you who interviewed, did you actually need to bring a small wallet sized photograph?
This is the first I have heard of an OSU UG bias. That is great news. Do you know of any situations as examples? I'm curious as to how much it can help. Top choice...thank you for any information.a quick look at the numbers...Ohio State took 4 students from Cal publics last year...I'm assuming they were IS. So that's 4 of the 85 OOS students they accepted. As far as stats go looks like Ohio State matches almost identical to Cal Irvine and Cal San Francisco if that's any help to you. The best answer to your question though (I think) is Ohio State is receptive to OOS from Cali but no preference. The only preference I see from Ohio State is for Ohio St UG's but no IS preference.
Wait you find out within the week? I thought it was within 2 weeksInterviewed here today and was honestly amazed at all the school has to offer! The interviews were conversational and it was more about you getting t know about the school than the other way around. Hoping to.hear I'm accepted once decisions are released this next week!

I interviewed last week and they told us December 17th as wellDecember 17th.
Wow that's impressive! Good luck!December 17th.
Check Ohio State class profile, 48 students matriculated to OhisSt Som from Ohio St UG
Keep in mind that OSU undergrads make up a substantial portion of the IS applicants number, relative to OU, Case, and all the smaller schools. Every premed here applies to OSUCOM, more or less, so while 48 got in and decided to go here, there is a large contingent of OSU alumni/undergrads who don't even get an interview.
Actually OUHCOMOUCOM not OSUCOM
Oh yeah, that's right! I forgot that "Heritage" addition to the name.Actually OUHCOM
You'll find that we use the acronym OSUCOM here at The Ohio State University College of Medicine quite frequently. Context should be clear that I was referring to Ohio State.Just for future reference OSUCOM is a different school than OSUSOM.
did you just print it out yourself on photo paper?@LuisCorinthiano yes I did and it was put into my file
@LuisCorinthiano that would definitely work, personally I used a CVS photo booth kiosk type thing
+2, complete sometime in July, nada
I just did that, no problems.@LuisCorinthiano that would definitely work, personally I used a CVS photo booth kiosk type thing
thanks for the info! I can't wait to interview here in january!!!I just did that, no problems.
Interview today went really well. This school is definitely in a higher tier than others I interviewed at. The most important thing: They make a huge effort to be as nice as possible, from the people working at the admissions desk to the faculty interviewing you.
And the interview is really chill, it seems like they want to know you as a person (no classic interview questions), plus the interviewers do not get to see your MCAT/GPA
THEYRE THE NICEST BECAUSE THEYRE FROM OHIO AND OHIO IS AWESOME AND PLEASE PLEASE OSU HOOK ME UUUUUUPPPPPPI just did that, no problems.
