Congratulations to you guys! I got deferred, really bummed, oh well.

A few of us were deferred on 10/15, and just got accepted today. Keep up the faith, seems like a pretty fast turnaround for some of us.

For those of you who were deferred and then accepted, did you send them any updates in the interim?
Or did they just need a little extra time to appreciate how amazing you are?

Meanwhile I'm still on "hold for information" since the end of July... I sent them the information they asked for the same day they asked for it 🙁
Should I give them a call?

No, no updates. I was hunkered down to wait until January or so. This was out of the blue, but sadly, no phone call from Dr. Capers, just an email that portal changed (almost thought it was a rejection).
Was happily surprised, as I thought all the acceptances were phone calls. What a wonderful day for a deferred folks to wake up to this morning.

Actually, I am about as cookie cutter as they come, but I have a broad cookie that supports the tri-partite mission of academic medical centers: research, education and clinical care. Not a superstar/rock star by any stretch of the imagination. Also, I have a learning disability, which I am very upfront about and disclosed in my interviews (I have accommodations for extra test time). I thought that may make folks pause, but I have had nothing but support and encouragement from medical schools.

I'm glad you've had such a great experience this cycle and hope that it continues!

Got the acceptance, but no phone call. Congrats to everyone who was accepted, and to those of you who were deferred just wait I'm sure you will get in!
Wow, hope Dr. Calpers is okay. His phone call is lore, and that I didn't receive one made me think it was a mistake. Sort of out of the norm not to get a phone call, though the acceptance letter was very nicely worded (then a whole paragarph with a list of all the stuff you need to do).

Dr. Capers* does have a day (and night) job besides admissions, sometimes dealing with patients takes a little bit of precedence over calling applicants.

Yep he's probably busy seeing heart patients and doing angioplasty and such

Hmm, would also like some in-state love. Have not gotten an interview here yet...

Got an II sometime this past week! Didn't get an email so those of you still waiting, be sure to check the portal often.

Did any of you guys receive a notification that your entire application was complete? It says that both my AMCAS and secondary are received but doesn't say anything about my letters - which were sent a little later.

If I recall correctly, there is no complete status or notification beyond this until you receive an interview.

Im trying to figure out my flight for my interview, is it reasonable to book a 6:20 flight back home? Will I have enough time to get to the airport and board?

Two questions:

- other than having it say Secondary application Received, is there anything in the portal to indicate your file is complete? will it show my LORs?
- Has anyone sent in a pre-ii update? If so, was there a specific email or person to address it to?

They do not accept pre interview updates and no I never got a complete email !

Hmmm... well i just checked the FAQ on the site just to double check, and it says they do accept pre-ii updates to [email protected]
I sent one but never got confirmation that they received the update or added it to my file... sooooo yeah. I guess it wouldn't hurt? although I haven't gotten an II so perhaps I shouldn't be talking =P

ACCEPTED JUST NOW VIA PHONE CALL!!!!!

I AM SO HAPPY

I COULD CRY

OH WAIT I JUST DID

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE ELSE THAT GOT THE CALL!!
Congrats to you!! Now change that status from Pre-med to Medical Student (accepted). You earned it!
We may be classmates next year.

This is my second actually, I just didn't want to be that guy to make it known on my profile heh. But I guess I will now! Does OSU have second look? There's a good chance I'll be going here!

We have a second look weekend sometime in April after all of our interviews have been conducted. You can expect information/finalized dates after the holiday break. It's a great time.

Accepted today! Got the phone call from Dr. Capers yesterday at around 7 PM EST.

Originally deferred 10/27. Submitted July, II 9/14, interviewed 10/12.

OOS, non-trad, LizzyM MCAT-heavy 70-73.

This is my first post on SDN. Very good chance I'll see some of you guys next year!

The date is in the acceptance letter. 😛

Second Look Weekend has been scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16, 2016.

oh! Huh. I didn't get the letter yet! Just the call!

It's in the online status portal when you click "View your status details" (and skip the broken flash animation). If you already got the email that your status changed, you should be able to see it.

re: Medpath, anyone care to share stats? And...is Ohio State Admissions offering the path or would the path be open to anyone not admitted as an M1 but with stats equal or greater than Medpath requirements?

Admissions forwards your app to the Medpath program, and you're invited to fill out a medpath supplemental application. It is not open to everyone who applies and doesn't get accepted.
