2015-2016 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
When you call you have to leave a message then they will call you back!

Withdrawing my interview on 11/16 for anyone who might want to switch dates, best of luck to everyone! 🙂

Yes they called me back.

It looks like the admissions office is still working on the decision or when to send out the emails.
They said to email them with the concern so they have a documentation to pass to the office in charge of the process and may be that will expedite the process!
They didn't want to give me exact date but max is two weeks
And hopefully by the end of this week!

What the ...?

WHY NOT JUST SEND THEM OUT NOW?!

Thank you for the update DMG!

I just emailed them. You'd think it would be in their best interest to get decisions out promptly. I have other interviews coming up that I would withdraw from if I got an acceptance beforehand.

If it takes so much time and effort to review a larger number of interviewees, why not just screen the secondaries more thoroughly?

Agree!
I also mentioned to them that it is kind of holding a lot of decisions I have to make!

Hoping & believing this week is the END!

can someone clarify their accredidation drama? I do not quite understand it.

i'm sure it's been asked and answered, but how many interview per day?
thanks 🙂

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's two groups (AM/PM) of 20-30 candidates per interview day. At least that was the case for me on 9/4.

Wow, they push through up to 60 interviewees every interview day? That's insane. Before long the post interview acceptance rate will be on par with the original interview rate!

They interview 2 groups of 24 a day. I think it is one day a week?

They supposedly interview 800-900 people and I bet they accept close 400-500 so it isn't too bad. 50% is great actually.

Any IIs recently? Anyone complete mid-Sept hear back?

On my complete email, they said 8-10 weeks. I was complete on 8/24, so 10 weeks was yesterday. No rejection email yet. Good news I suppose?

Well nothing has come out for anyone. It seems they are still reviewing the people that interviewed in September/October from what I've gathered in this forum. I was told 4-6 weeks in my email and it's going on week 8 for me and week 9 for some.

Edit: Ohh I may have read your message in terms of post-interview rejection. I'm not sure what the post completion timeline is.

I just called. Lady I talked to said decisions should be out this week or next week hopefully, but it could be the week after that, even (so 11 weeks after my interview...)

She described this is "a teeny bit behind." AYFKMWTS?

Just got off the phone with a really helpful lady in admissions. I got a complete email on 8/7 but still haven't heard anything (almost 13 weeks). She told me they are running behind but I can expect to hear back either this week or next. Hope this helps some of you relax!

I would not classify my current state of mind as relaxed, but it will certainly be better to know!

Thank you for calling!! I've also been complete here since mid August and was wondering about that. Like ^ said, I wouldn't say I'm relaxed at this point (complete silence is driving me mad!) but now I'll just channel my anxiety away from this school and onto the others! :bang:

Not to be a debbie-downer, but they probably just say that because what else can they say? As of today, I have been complete 16 weeks with no news. Hopefully we do hear something within the next 2 weeks though!

Wow, that's a huge lag time

Secondaries are a money maker, did you see how many ppl apply? CMS can get a good $1.5 million just from secondaries, so why screen for it and lose all that sure cash? It's business common sennse imo.

Edit: Sorry I didn't see that you were talking about interviewee selection. This is only the 2nd year CMS is doing MMI's so I guess it's a learning curve for RFUMS too.

Seriously? Have you put yourself into the admissions guys' shoes and imagine the vast numbers of apps and interviews you have to cut down?

Nothing is easy in the real world.

The problem is not waiting 11 weeks to release post interview decisions. The problem is telling people that it will be a max of 4-6 weeks and then being completely shady, nonforthcoming, and unapologetic about it. Why not just err on the side of conservatism then instead of keeping students anxious for weeks? (Not to mention costs associated for students who might want to potentially cancel other interviews, etc. We're talking thousands of dollars here.)

One of my schools doesn't release decisions til March, and I've not complained about it once because they were honest about it from the outset. This? This is beyond ridiculous.

Not gonna lie, this is really dramatic. Be happy you haven't been rejected yet...
And who knows, all the posting and complaining you've been doing, would it be worth it if you were rejected in the end?
Some people don't have an interview yet, you shouldn't be complaining so much.

I hate this stupid argument of "be grateful you have interviews." It's not like I'm some lucky individual upon whom interviews were bestowed and everyone else is completely powerless to hear back. I worked hard over the course of years to put together a strong application that would guarantee me these interviews, and I've been rewarded for that. If you have socioeconomic factors significantly limiting you from having good grades, ECs, and scores, that's one thing. But very few people can say that- most of my peers who haven't heard back simply spent too much time intoxicated (or maybe even just straight up lazy) and not enough time actually being productive.

And I've been rejected from 5 places, and you can look at the school specific threads for all of them- I've been fairly positive about them. I can't even imagine how difficult this is for people who don't have any acceptances or are wasting several thousand dollars attending more interviews when it might be unnecessary. Like I said, it's the lack of openness that's pissing me off.

Thanks for making the calls! I was going to do so tomorrow myself! Saved me a bit of time!

Lets hope it is good news! Have been complete for forever myself. Best of luck everyone, gimme that II !!!!!!!!! 🙂

Totally agree. Painfully ironic how inhumane this whole process is 🙁.

Just wanted to give you guys some advice post interview. Few will be admitted. Few will be rejected. Many will be waitlisted. It's because it's so early in the cycle. If you haven't heard back, it's not that they forgot about you. Just remain productive and try not to think about it as it is no longer in your hands.

What is this vitriol? Seriously...relax.

And don't you also have an acceptance at UIC? ...re: relax...

And aren't you the same person that probably won't attend CMS?
Sorta tempted to call and ask what the hold up is, considering they said 4-6 weeks and we're going on week 7 now. But tbh, I don't think I'd really go here even if I did get in.

But hey, good luck!

How is the amount I care about this school any of your business, again?

How is the amount I care about this school any of your business, again?

You make it everyones business when you incessantly post on a public forum. More so when you start deriding the work ethic of others.

And with that, *Ignores*. Adieu, Choco. I pray we do not end up classmates or future collaborators.

Still sounds to me like you're choosing to make it your business...

And I'm not deriding anyone unless they undermine my hard work by saying stupid **** like "just be lucky you have interviews."

Good riddance.

I'm confused. Whatever. I'm washing my hands of this whole thing. Hopefully they'll let us know soon. And remember they said more often than not, their emails go to spam, so keep checking your spam!
