email or call and they will give you rough estimates. list isnt moving until next week thofrom HP waitlist. is it better to just call in?
Congratz! You're one lucky person. Do you mind posting stats and what answer they gave you if you asked what your place on the list was.Long time SDN Lurker. Accepted today off the HPA List.
congrats!! its beginning! I'm also interested if they gave any indication you were at the very top!Long time SDN Lurker. Accepted today off the HPA List.
[email protected]What email address did you guys contact to find out your spot? 🙂
They said they have "typically reached my position in previous years" and said I can follow up again in July if I haven't heard from them. The wait continues!!

other people have been told very good chance and gray area. i wonder if they tell anyone they usually dont reach their spot and i also wonder how big this actual "high priority" list isi think they just give this response to 90% of ppl. Maybe it is a built in auto response on their email acct

You don't really register for classes - I'd recommend doing all the paperwork (and BLS training) as early as you can so you don't have to worry about it later. Once that's in you kinda just coast into the year.
You can always email or call and they'll tell you what you need to do if you want to travel, to ease your mind.

There's a checklist on MyUpstate that shows the status of every item you need to submit/complete. I imagine once you have finished all of the requirements you're good to go.I understand but my question is that after all paper work and proof of BLS licensing have been submitted, will I receive an email or confirmation that everything has been approved for my matriculation?
If I recall correctly, the summer before I started undergraduate, I think that I had to wait until my UG institution notified me that they have received everything before I was allowed to matriculate officially.
BLS = CPR for the professional rescuer, which is what you should have taken during EMT class.PSA for those accepted: I recently learned that CPR/FA certification does not count for the BLS. And being an EMT doesn't help either. 🙁
No, apparently it is not the same.BLS = CPR for the professional rescuer, which is what you should have taken during EMT class.
CPR for the professional rescuer is through the American Red Cross, and CPR - BLS (healthcare provider) is through the American Heart Association. It's my understanding that these courses are equivalent. Do you have something that suggests otherwise? No, apparently it is not the same.
Yeah- Upstate told me that the former was not good enough. I would call them if you only have the former (as I do).CPR for the professional rescuer is through the American Red Cross, and CPR - BLS (healthcare provider) is through the American Heart Association. I would add that Red Cross has a BLS class too but sadly they only offer hybrid/online classes near my crib... 🙁CPR for the professional rescuer is through the American Red Cross, and CPR - BLS (healthcare provider) is through the American Heart Association. Hey guys! I was also told I was in a gray area today. Can't help but feel anxious. However I heard that there have been people who were accepted late July (just days away from orientation), so here's to hoping for the best!
This is actually my second time applying to medical school. Things have been quite rough the past two years. 🙁
thats interesting. so far we have counted 3 responses: very good chances (i think those guys are done because someone said they got in after being told "we usually reach your spot"); we usually reach your spot; and you are in a gray area.At least you guys are getting an answer. I have called twice and sent an email to the admission office but I can't get them to tell where I am on the HPAL.
