I spoke with admissions, but the person able to answer my question is out of the office through the weekend. In the odd chance that someone else has asked this question, I'm posting it here. Per:

They have a very definitive looks at what fields qualify as a science letter. My question is whether it is the writer's DEPARTMENT or the CLASS you took with them that matters. For instance, would a letter writer who is from a non-science department, but taught me in a science class, count as a science letter? Many schools treat this differently.

Hey yall, I received the secondary from CWRU 16 days ago, and I just noticed that they strongly recommend it to be completed within two weeks. Their secondary is by far the longest, and took me a long time to complete. I am planning to submit it tomorrow. Does anyone know if submitting within 17 days rather than 2 weeks is going to put me at a disadvantage?

I'm sitting on 24 days now, because I keep pushing this one off. Oh well, I doubt it can make or break you.

Submitted the 13th, still not complete....anyone else experiencing a long wait, or is it possibly worth a call. I try to not be that over eager person, but seems like a long time?

Didn't get an e-mail, but portal tells me I'm complete.

Argh, my LOR's weren't transmitted and that's why....fixed now, but that was a week+ that I could have been in.

Are you still waiting for a secondary invite? Did you use a Hotmail address in AMCAS?

It looks like Hotmail is being more aggressively anti-spam than usual, and the vast majority of people that did not receive their secondary invite email have been using Hotmail. If you are still waiting for your invite, email iapplysupport and we'll get you into our secondary.

Hahah i felt the same way! But they really stress applicants to keep their eyes on the portal as it is their main method of communication. So fingers crossed its not a mix up for either of us!!

What date did you schedule?

I haven't chosen a date yet! I'm trying to figure out which professor will be least upset that I'm missing their class first 🙄

Emails are going out for status updates. We encourage you to look at the portal because spam filters occasionally mark the automated messages as spam and prevent them from reaching your inbox. Make sure you have iapply {at} case dot edu in your contacts or whitelist to ensure the emails get through. Check your spam folder occasionally for emails from that address as well.

Randomly checked portal and apparently I'm invited for an interview. I didn't get an email yet. Maybe it recently changed and will come tomorrow.

But just FYI make sure you're checking!

Yes an interview schedule tab, host tab, some interview tips, and an attached letter with my name.

Edit: I tried to share a picture but the app is being weird.

When I go on the portal to select a host for my interview stay, no name comes up on entering my date. The same for anyone else?

Saw it somewhere that the list doesn't come out til the end of August when they're back in full swing.

Got my first II! Secondary submitted 7/12, LizzyM 75. I can't believe it... my best friend is an M1 here, I'm really hoping for an acceptance!

I wrote about a paper that has not yet been published with what I believe (and my PI believes) to be very interesting findings. I would personally write about it, and simply reveal the overall topic, what has been elucidated in the past (references / background), and the goal or hypothesis of your research and what you hoped to find from the onset. Maybe mention that you have been successful in applying xyz skills to further the project and it is now submitted for publication. That should suffice. Worked for me.

I got an II and rejected from Case/CC respectively and I did not get an email update for either. I was scared I had almost missed the time to schedule an interview or something!

Has anyone else's application take a long time to be marked complete? I submitted 1 month ago and is still not marked complete..
