Apartment wise look into Broadmoor Apartments and Urban Village. These are probably the two largest apartment companies in Omaha. They both generally have nice, newly updated apartments for reasonable rent. There are definitely cheaper options out there, but these two have a good range of locations, apartment sizes, and costs. At the very least I'd check out their websites to get an idea of what price range vs amenities you should be looking for. The neighborhood you heard of was probably River Park (a Broadmoor owned apartment complex). It's actually in Council Bluffs just across the river, but is a very good apartment complex with several Creighton students about 10 min drive from campus and 15-25 min drive to Bergan depending on how I-80 is moving. They have a gym, multiple pools, sand volleyball, basketball courts, grills, etc, and most of our class BBQs/summer get-togethers were hosted there. If you are interested in River Park I'd suggest getting in contact with them sooner rather than later as they tend to fill up quickly in the summer. Another option is Midtown Crossing which will offer very nice, new apartments in a great location, but most likely with higher rent plus additional costs for parking. There are also several new apartments opening in the Midtown and Blackstone districts which seem nice driving by them. Generally cost of living is cheap and rent can be anywhere from $500 a month for a studio to $1300 a month for a two bedroom apartment and everything in between. Other people rent houses which I personally know nothing about, but they seemed to be happy with their decision as well.
