II here today!!! So it seems I fill out this application, send the forms, and then they schedule an interview day for you about 6 weeks later?

Exactly. They say it takes 4-6 weeks to process the forms but mine were all submitted and checked off within a week and a half.

Thank you so much!!! Should I get LORs sent to them directly, or they pull them off of AMCAS?

Does it matter which campus we interview at?

I'll probably just select the main campus since I'm OOS to get a feel for the school. I'm also not really sure about my chances since I don't have ties to Indiana- I'm grateful for the opportunity though!

another question: do I just pay the $65 fee, select a campus to interview at, and wait for an interview date?

Or do I need all green check-marks on the other items before my date will be assigned?

Just pay the fee and select a campus to interview at. They'll schedule your interview without the green check-marks, but you need to have them all checked by your interview date.

Being that you are OOS and not very familiar with the school, I'd recommend going to the Indy campus to interview. I think the reason that a lot of us interview at the satellite campuses is due to our UG being in the same city which makes it much more convenient.

II yesterday.

I'll be withdrawing my application though so I hope some of you still waiting will get it soon!!

Could those accepted post their sGPA, cGPA, MCAT? I'll be applying next year and would appreciate some insight.... Really appreciate it!

sGPA - 3.8 cGPA - 3.95 MCAT - 512. They tend to send out acceptances based upon these scores combine with your interview/app score so the scores of those accepted recently will be higher than the school average (ie. avg = 3.7/3.7 507 from what I've heard).

I wouldn't be too worried about scores though but obviously have scores acceptable for medical school. I was accepted with scores lower than that. Had lots of extra curricular activities and I had a fairly early interview and acceptance, was OOS, and I was not early decision.

May I ask your stats?

I'm checking my e-mail waiting to hear something even though I very well know that they won't send me one. I am psycho.
I think your status changes in the portal before you get any sort of email, and some people get that status change before they receive the snail mail.

Does anyone here know the class size at the Bloomington campus? Or any downsides to attending that campus?

I believe there's about 25-30 people there. No downsides as far as I know (I'm at Indy). We all take the same exam and if you dont like your professors you can watch other campus' lectures. A lot of my classmates do/did that

I'm from Bloomington and have a friend at IU med who is at that campus. I know he absolutely loves it and chose it as his first choice. Bloomington is a great city, I would definitely say it and Indy are the most popular two

Anyone know if having spouses with careers, kids in school, owning a house, etc...hold any weight in the lottery for campus preferences?

Where where did the favorite lectures tend to come from?

If you pick a regional campus as top choice instead of Indy are you likely to get it?

anyone know what the legal disclosure and dean of students evaluation forms are about? I am confused because the email says we must have them filled and mailed to indiana before our interview and then the application says they just have to be sent in thirty days after your interview. Can anyone shed some light on this I am quite confused

Received acceptance letter in the mail today!!! Super excited and grateful for the opportunity! Best of luck to everyone still waiting!

Could anyone accepted this week say what date they interviewed and where they are from? I was hoping for a letter soon, but it looks like I will have to wait until next year 🙁

So, apparently my parents received a letter in the mail from IUSM today (I forgot to switch the mailing address to my university address -.-). However, I looked at my IU portal and it still states "Under Consideration." Does the portal usually update before or after receiving a letter via snail mail? Curious if the letter is pertaining to a decision or not.

The portal doesn't update for a few days after the letters are sent out!

My acceptance letter came in a large white envelope. Very clearly an acceptance. It's says something like "the first 4 years in a life of healing." My portal still says under consideration as well.

IU usually only sends letters if you get accepted!

Hey all I'm interviewing on 1/11 and I'm flying in from Texas. I was wondering what to expect from the interview day. Also for any locals what should one expect from the weather? I'm from Deep South Texas so cold to us is like 40 degrees.

Has anyone's portal been updated who was just accepted?

The general outline of the interview day is (assuming you have a morning interview): interview, tour of facilities, lunch with current IUSM students, and presentation over the financial aspect of medical school.

In terms of the interview itself, it can kind of vary to an extent. For example, I've had friends have 1-2 interviewers, while others had 4 or 5---I think it varies based on the location you're interviewing. Expect the interview to last 45 mins- 1hr and don't stress about it. It's a really laid back interview..it seemed more like a conversation than anything tbh. You'll do fine 🙂!

As for the weather, Indiana is always unpredictable. I've seen it anywhere from the negative digits (D=) to the low 50's (=D) in the month of January---with snow, ice, sun, and everything in between. However, it'll probably be around the mid 30's or so if I would have to guess.
