What do you guys think about submitting my AMCAS to Oakland today? I know its late, but I have had all my applications done since July and now I am wishing I had applied here. IS 3.94/509. I know most schools heavily favor early applicants, does anybody know specifically how Oakland views this?

Well if you've already submitted your primary, i dont think it can hurt. You're chances wont be zero, but they will be pretty small at this point in the game.

I cancelled my interview and withdrew my application from here today (wouldn't choose this school over another acceptance). I hope one of you get my spot!
You've been a superstar this cycle, ChrisM! Congrats on your acceptance(s) and kudos to you

This is pretty late to ask, but since submitting my application early August, all of the Application Category sections have some notes in the Notes section, except for "Application File Complete" (which just has a green checkmark in the Application Status). Is this cause for concern/should I call and ask about it? Thanks!

That's how mine is too.

So if I interviewed September 16 and didn't get a call Monday or yesterday, is it safe to say I was passed over in the first round of decisions?
I believe they will still be considering you from now on until they decide for sure where you will be placed (whether accepted, rejected, waitlisted, or tiered).

I interviewed 09/09 and also haven't heard anything so I am hoping no news is still not bad news. I am wondering if we might be waiting until after the next adcom meeting (which are the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of the month I believe).

They just posted on twitter.. looks like no more offers are going out this week. Next meeting is Nov 2 🙂

I just noticed their secondary email said "Once we receive your completed supplemental application and required letters of recommendation, we will review your application materials to determine whether to extend an offer for you to interview. The earlier you submit these items, the sooner your application will be reviewed."
Do they tell you if you're on hold? There seems to be a good deal of us complete in July who are still waiting for a response.

I've seen a few people post they got a hold status. But agreed, I'm one of those July people.

Also a July submitter and OOS. Not on hold, but sent an update recently. Hopefully we get II's soon.

Rejected this morning. Complete in mid July OOS, thought I matched their mission statement pretty well. Oh well. Best of luck to the rest of you!

Rejected, at an unusually late time in the day...LizzyM 71, OOS (Canadian applicant), complete 06/29. Good luck everyone else!

Sorry to hear that my friend!! Been complete since 7/28, so I guess they'll reject me soon too 🙁

Damn so July people still haven't heard back? Anyone mid August get II or rejections yet?

Yea lots of people from August and September have heard back one way or another. I guess they don't review the apps exactly in order tho.

It's alright 🙂 I hope you hear good news, though! No news could be good news for the future

How did you guys got to campus from DTW airport? I am interviewing in here in couple of weeks and haven´t been able to figure this one out.

I took a cab from the airport. I was told by airport staff that Uber wasn't available (could be false). Cost me $85

I took an uber. Total cost was around $50.

Ugh, I guess I may end up doing that. I definitely do not want to rent a car and drive in Michigan (it is my first time in that state!). The transportation system seems to be terrible in the area anyways...

Thanks btw! I am looking forward for my interview here. it seems like a great place, just kinda hard to physically get there.

I did that for another interview and it wasn't so bad. It was actually pouring rain, too. I also did take my sister with me. I am over 25 and it was just much easier.

I'm interviewing here in couple of weeks as well. My flight lands around 11:15PM and will drive almost an hour to my host's place for following morning interview at 8AM. I'm not sure how I'll be mentally for that interview haha. Did anyone else have a similar situation and were not feeling exhausted for the interview? lol

Would anyone be interested in practicing for this interview over Skype?

I landed super late like this but took an uber instead of driving to my host's place where I stayed up til 1:30ish and still survived the next day even tho it was raining. You can do it! Just bring good shoes for the school's tour (not hospital tour) because it's a lot of walking and later in the day.

Wow! That's exactly what I needed to hear lol. I can do it too! Just wouldn't want it to rain during my interview day. Water is not good for my shoes lol
Thanks for the pro-tip! Anything I can do to prepare for the interview?
