might be a stupid question but is this a nice way of saying im on hold?
"Thank you again for your application to the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science(RFUMS). This is a courtesy notification to make you aware that your file has gone through an initial review by our Admissions Committee and although we believe your credentials demonstrate strong academic potential it is still under continued consideration.

We receive many qualified applications every year and will continue to make decisions regarding the next step in the process after initial review on an on-going basis. Thus, we appreciate your patience as our committee continues to consider your application and all the distinguishing characteristics needed for a thorough and holistic review.

We will keep you abreast of your status of continued consideration with the Chicago Medical School at RFUMS throughout the application cycle."

Received the complete email today after submitting my application in August. How long did it take for people to hear back for II after the complete email? I am REALLY hoping for an II here..

Rejected pre-II just now by email. Complete 8/9/16. LizzyM ~70. Best of luck to everyone else!

sounds like that is a hold

Finally got the complete email, now a short 8-10 weeks to go... haha just glad something is finally happening with the allopathic schools I applied to. In case any one is still waiting, I had everything submitted 8/18 so two months ago.

Im in your same shoes brother

Why did I only get a complete email now? After over 2 months when I submitted my secondary? I hope this wasn't an administrative error, since I'm at a huge disadvantage now at this school if my app was just placed into the "complete" file.

It wasn't an admin error. Everyone's (past the first month or so of submissions) has been taking a VERY long time to be marked complete - CMS gets a lot of apps and it seems like their system is not equipped to handle it as quickly as other schools can. You're not theoretically at a disadvantage considering everyone else's took equally long to complete. Good luck!

Phew, thank you for the reassuring words. The SDN neuroticism keeps getting to me. I got worried seeing a huge wave of acceptances a page or two back and assume that everyone was automatically complete when they submitted their secondary except for me. :poke:

I submitted my secondary mid-July and only got the II on 8/31. Takes about 1.5-2 months to hear back.

Thank you for the additional information and congratulations on your interview! I love this school and would love to have a chance to interview here.

I'm heading on 8 weeks today since I got an email saying I should hear back within 4-6 weeks, yay haha

Submitted first week of August with letters, and still no complete email.....

Received e-mail stating that my application was complete and now under review by the admissions committee approximately 12 weeks ago and haven't heard anything.

My application was complete and submitted by first week of July.

Guys, this school gets 10,000 applications per cycle. Give them time to do their thing. In reference, some other schools get less than half of the applications this school gets. Patience young neurotic pre-meds lol

I think it was like 16000 last cycle, with a 40% increase in secondaries filled out. I'm guessing that this is probably the last year the old MCAT might be utilized... could cause an increase in apps, early apps, etc. I think the 8-10 weeks, 4-6 weeks, etc are their best estimations, but stuff happens sometimes.

In other news, it has been approximately 3 weeks since the 9/30 interview day. Trying to not let my self-handicapping get the better of me and stay positive.

Is there anyone on here that heard back sooner than 8-10 weeks after receiving the complete email?

Yes. I got the complete email in the beginning of August and got the II at the end of the month.

Congratulations to all accepted students and to those still waiting, hang in there!

Hi guys,

I was accepted last year, but deferred admission until summer/fall of 2017. I was recently emailed the 2017 form to fill out the deposit and intent to enrol - were there any other forms that you accepted students were given to fill out? At this point, do we just wait until we get the invite for the Facebook group?

Also, any other fellow Canadians accepted here? Curious how many they accept haha

Thanks

I applied to this school mid-August. I've already interviewed and been accepted at another school (same submission time), but my app is still not even complete here. They probably take another year just to review them.

I'm going to be withdrawing my app today anyways, but this wait time is really ridiculously long.
