Hi everyone, just wondering is SLU receptive to ITA emails? Thanks in advance!
In The Area Emails,
CONGRATS!
Does SLU give any merit aid?
CONGRATS!
I see that this is your first acceptance (?), the weight must be lifted off your shoulders 🙂

Congrats! How was the interview day at SLU? They got back to you so quickly!
I do not believe so.What is the informal dinner on Sundays? Is it a necessary event to attend?
I was surprised how quickly the got back to me. I was told to expect to hear back in 3-6 weeks and it turned out to be less than 3 weeks.
The interview day was very relaxed. My interview was in the research building and I got printed directions for how to get there when I checked in. My interview was very conversational. My interviewer had a copy of the activities from my application and just asked me questions about them. The other questions were pretty basic (why medicine, why SLU)
That's good to hear. Did you go to that informal dinner?
I didn't know they had one till right nowI did not. I didn't realize they had one until the interview day.

Hello, SLU M1 here. I don't think SLU cares where you will ultimately practice. There is a large percentage of our class that is from the west coast and I think they are well aware that many of us hope to return to the west coast. In the 2016 SLU Match, 23 matched Family Med out of about 170 that matched. I haven't gotten the feeling that we are family medicine oriented. However, all the family med faculty that I have interacted with were awesome.Ok now I don't feel as bad for missing it lol. One question- did you feel that SLU wants to admit students who will stay in St.louis post med school? Also are they primarily family medicine oriented?
is SLU receptive to pre II updates or letters of interest?

Nope. SLU hates altruistic, good-hearted people. Thanks for the info! Do you think SLU accepts applicants if they have a strong desire for community service?
Had my interview on November 8th. Faculty and staff were nice and I met some quality applicants 🙂
Great hospital system and solid facilities. Library was "meh" but you have access to the undergrad one. Building felt older (think: church basement), but they're always updating things. Great lecture halls.
Most important: I felt that the school as a whole genuinely cares for the mental health and well-being of the students.
Interview was a little intense. Interviewer was nice but kept interrupting me. I felt as if he/she was trying to trip me up somehow... interruptions led to me occasionally losing my train of thought and messed with my pacing.
Why do I feel the same person interviewed us bothInterviewed the same day and agree with this. Did they give any timetable on when we would hear back?
Yup, I've heard nada from them. I was complete early August. :/I was complete end of August/early September, I'm assuming it's a no at this point right? Anyone else still waiting for an II?
Feeling defeated? I sure am.Yup, I've heard nada from them. I was complete early August. :/

Thats good to know. When did those people start to hear anything? December?I trolled last year's thread and it looks like some people who were complete pretty early last year didn't hear until later so I'm not giving up 100% yet..but yeah, I'm feeling bummed for sure

Friday here we come lol. There were quite a few that got II around November 18th who were complete between early August and early September. So if it follows that trend this year, those of us who've been complete for a while may still have a chance!
Not that I heard of!Interviewed the same day and agree with this. Did they give any timetable on when we would hear back?
my interview last year was sent to me on November 21 and i completed on july 20 if that makes you feel better dont be too worried youll get one soonI was complete end of August/early September, I'm assuming it's a no at this point right? Anyone else still waiting for an II?
