Will be turning down my acceptance in the next week or so. Good luck to everyone on the WL and all the awesome students I met at second look!
I spoke with them at 2nd look and they weren’t receptive at all. I could have been going about it the wrong way though!Hey all! I feel like this might have already been addressed, but does anyone have any experience or know if the school is receptive to asking for more financial aid after they have sent you a financial aid package? I was offered a generous package at another school but would really really love to choose Duke, I just don't know how to go about asking.
Is the deadline to submit withdrawal of offer of acceptance for this school on April 15 or April 30th? Still deciding between 2 schools!
There are instructions in our acceptance letter on how to do this. There’s an option for the electronic process so you shouldn’t have to worry about it arriving on time.Does anyone know where to submit the eCheck for out admissions deposit. I need to send in my check by the 30th (Monday) and if I mail it today I am afraid it will not arrive on time.
I called - more people accepted offers than the actual class size, so Duke will not be going to the WL. 🙁Does any current student know if there's a chance for waitlist movement this year?
Bummer, but better to know early on I guess haha. Thanks for sharing!I called - more people accepted offers than the actual class size, so Duke will not be going to the WL. 🙁
Again??? But that trick never works!!! (apologies to R & B)I called - more people accepted offers than the actual class size, so Duke will not be going to the WL. 🙁
Few questions regarding the area, etc. Also an incoming MS1 and went to Duke for undergrad, happy to answer questions about Duke/Durham etc! 🙂
Right by the Med school (e.g. walking distance) there are a lot of apartments. I don’t really consider the immediate area around Duke to be super family-friendly.Few questions regarding the area, etc.
Is the neighborhood close to Duke Med a good place for children or is it more urban/industrial? Do you know anything about the elementary schools? I have a 9 year old son and want to live close to campus, but also need to consider his neighborhood environment, availability of friends to play with, parks, etc. Not accepted there yet (still working on secondaries) but trying to take other factors like lifestyle and environment into consideration as well.
Thanks!
