You receive a numerical score for each station. When final reads take place, a number cut-off is involved in determining acceptances and rejections. Do your best!

I had no idea there was a numerical cutoff for interviews to determine rejections... Now I know I won't be getting in here!

Based on my communications with the admissions office, they close your file completely until a final read in February. Your one option is to submit an update letter within two weeks of your interview. If you have something relevant to submit, I think that definitely shows interest because you are taking the time to send them some information.

Post-interview within two weeks. If you haven't received an interview, you can still update your portal page in whatever timeframe you want. I would get it in soon as they finish their interview season in early February.

You never know! It's a really random process because we don't know what exactly they are measuring at each station. I was given this information by a current student.

so they are not giving out any more interviews
 
I called and asked and they said they still had some invites to give out. & MC_Infarction has stated above that they've extended to Feb 15.

Anyone know if Duke is receptive to "in the area" emails?

Congrats! When were you complete? And do you mind sharing what interview dates were available? I'm guessing we're nearing the end here...
 
I was informed that my application was in the final decision stage. (I had asked them about screening formalities). Complete conjecture, but it sounds like I might have a third screen that would determine whether or not I am extended an interview. Not holding my breath though LOL
 
Anyone have a rough idea of when they release decisions other than "sometime mid march?"

My portal says they anticipate admission decisions to be distributed in early March which is in line with the decisions reported on last year on Monday 3/6. So right now my bet is on Monday 3/5.

I believe a good amount of people got the call on Friday 3/3, as well. So some people might be getting the call on 3/2.
 
Did anyone else interviewing next Friday get an email that said they’re interviewing Monday and Thursday of next week (no mention of a Friday interview date)? I double checked my portal and it definitely says Friday. Im a little concerned and I tried calling admissions but they were already closed for the day

This might have been the email about the pre-interview activity (held on Thursday night for Friday interviews, and Monday night for Tuesday interviews)

The email said the event would take place on Wednesday for the Thursday interview sos

Heyyy I'm interviewing on the same day, and I got the same email. I might call tomorrow just to make sure the email is generic for their past interviews, and we're still interviewing on Friday!

Phew okay I was planning on calling too, they open at 7 and I’ll be up for work so I can call and let you know what they say! I’m glad I’m not crazy

I called and the lady in admissions said Friday is the correct date! She said they couldn't get the interview space for Thursday next week so they had to do Friday instead, they're going to try and send out an email. See you next week!
 
After getting three rejections yesterday I can't wait to hear back from Duke! I hope they end up sending out decisions in late February like they said they wanted to when I interviewed in December. Does anyone know if they think they're still planning on that target?

I interviewed last week and yes, they were still claiming decisions by the end of Feb
 
MS2 checking in - I would bet that its first week of March, as it has been for the past three years - and despite the "no phone calls" listed on the site, that's how they do them every single year as a forewarning. That being said, this place is amazing and I hope it all works out. It will really make your dreams come true, just last week I got to scrub into a heart transplant and actually help the surgeon for the 10-hour case - something I never thought I would even see let alone actually get to participate in
 
I hate how they can make us wait till March and still have people kicking down the door to fill their class. Good luck to everyone on this lengthy wait.
 
yo have no pre-II rejections been sent.... it says that they were on the MD rejections thread but I haven't actually seen anyone post any....

I remember someone saying that their portal updated to show they were rejected pre-II, but other than that I haven't heard anything.

I was rejected last week. No email but there was a portal change.
