Does anyone know what Netter's match list is like?

The first graduating class (2017) had a 100% match rate. I've uploaded a word doc with the matches from the class of 2017.

Still on silence here and was scrolling back to see if they are still interviewing (im gathering not) but this was cool to come across.

Picked up an R but I'm okay with it, GL everyone else!

Are there any accepted students who plan to matriculate here? I'm still so undecided, I really loved the school but I have a chance to attend a higher ranked school with an on site hospital. If any of you guys plan on going here please message me! I'd like to hear your thoughts about the program.

Would love this as well!

Can anyone comment specifically on the clinical sites and how far they are from the Netter campus? Are the majority of them within 15 minutes? 30 minutes? Do you ever have to drive all the way to places like Bridgeport? If so, how often?

Thanks

For MeSH, sites can be as close as walking distance (depending on where you live) and as far as an hour away. Further sites definitely correlate with higher-quality preceptors, though, as they want to make your experience worth the drive. My MeSH site is about 50 minutes away and I wouldn't trade if given the choice, and my other classmates who have long drives have had similarly positive experiences.

Third-year clinical sites include St. Vincent's (Bridgeport), St. Francis (Hartford), Waterbury, Griffin (Derby), MidState (Meriden), and others. As you can see, we go all over the state, but it's rare to drive more than 45 minutes to a site. Each third-year clerkship is six weeks, and many have inpatient and outpatient components, so you might not be spending all six weeks driving to the same site.

A concern someone else mentioned here is that Netter doesn't have an on-site hospital. While it would obviously be convenient to have one central location for all of our rotations, the benefits of going to multiple sites in third year is that we have a broader exposure to different healthcare systems and EMR. I've heard from multiple older students and faculty that Netter students develop a degree of flexibility and adaptability that is particularly helpful in fourth year when doing away rotations. Just my two cents on that!

Waitlisted today via email, interviewed 02/05. OOS, MCAT 511, GPA 3.65. and so the wait beginssss

Accepted this morning via email!! AHH SO EXCITED!

Interviewed mid January.

Is Connecticut Children's also an affiliate? I saw on the website for the clinical partners that they were but not sure if that it current.

They are, but from what 3rd years have told me its at least for now only the pediatric surgery department. I believe it is one of the inpatient peds options but perhaps mazarine knows more details.

Does anyone know when Second Look day is?
April 13-14th. Expect an email soon!

Also congrats to all of those accepted! Hope to see you at second look/next year!

II here too! (Completely unexpected).

Hoping these are NOT all for waitlist spots :xf:

For MeSH, is it possible to be with a general surgeon as I have heard a current student is with one but am not too sure

I'm not aware of anyone with a general surgeon and feel like it is unlikely since the main goals of MeSH (learning to take histories, interacting with patients etc.) can't really be met with an anesthetized patient :)

Majority of MeSH preceptors are in primary care however there are a few specialists (cards, pulmo, GI) that if available you can potentially request. However if you are interested in surgery, it is easy to get put in contact with a surgeon to shadow.

how do you think the exams are? are they fair and how frequently would you say they give exams?

Exams are fair. So far this year average is usually in the mid 80s with passing ~68 (will never be greater than 70). Exams consist of an NBME portion, professor written portion and anatomy practical if applicable. Supposedly they try their best to have number of questions/exam weight be proportional to amount of hours spent on a certain topic. Exams are at the end of each block which is typically around 6 weeks.

Yes, but mainly for one of the inpatient pediatrics rotation options as @doctorleospaceman mentioned. I believe we have a few preceptors / clinical faculty who we can reach out to directly there as well.

Does anyone know if after submitting a scholarship essay we were supposed to receive email confirmation?

How soon after accepting an admissions offer should we receive a packet in the mail?

I’m so excited I keep checking my mail every day, but if the packet won’t come for a few weeks I guess I’ll stop lol

I was the same way... Think it took mine a little over a month, acceptance came mid-January.

Ok cool thanks. I’ll give the mailbox some downtime then, before I start excitedly checking it every day again
