Hey guys,
So I was recently fortunate enough to get accepted here! I really loved the school, and the faculty and students were by far the most pleasant people of all the schools I interviewed at. I was just wondering where the school stands in relation with other medical schools? I know it is fairly new, so there is not much information available online.

They also just matched their first class recently, does anyone happen to know where that match list is? I'be been having a lot of trouble finding it.

also curious as well....how did they score on their step exams? is it difficult to match into a competitive residency from here?

I have a 3.3 (3.7 last two years) and 515 (128/128/131/128) and complete 7/31 I think

My app is heavily research oriented with pubs etc. and 4000+hrs currently. so I was pretty surprised for here @medstudent257 forgot to quote

how'd you feel your interview went? sorry to bring it up... I'm just curious cause I've got mine coming up and it's the only II i've got so far so freaking about making sure it goes well
 
has anyone ben accepted lately? i interviewed 10/20, i know it's a little early for me to hear back but i love hearing others' good news while i wait for a decision 🙂

They are very conversational and relaxed 🙂
 
Does netter provide laptops/tablets for students? If so which kind? I'm planning on buying a surface book 2, but not sure if I would need to. Thanks!

Not that I gathered. They did say that most of the books, material, etc is digital. The students that gave us the tour said most students have Macbooks or Surface Pro/Books. I recently got a Surface Pro. I want to be able to highlight and write/draw on pdf slides/text books. An iPad will let you write on it, but it's not a full computer imo.

I thought my interview went really well actually, especially the one with the student interviewer. The student interviewer I had took zero notes during the interview though, so I'm not sure how much it really helped me. I feel like I could have done better on the faculty interview though! It was my first interview so I definitely was nervous, and my answers definitely came out more rushed and less composed with the faculty interviewer. When they start asking you about what you would do in specific situations as a physician, definitely try to sound measured and thoughtful, as opposed to taking a strong stance on one side of an argument (for me, it was whether or not I would disclose to the patient a minor complication that happened during their surgery).
 
For everyone that has has interviews already- were you asked if you wanted to do primary care? I know from reading many of you didnt put that in the secondary (I put pediatric neurology so no for me), but I haven't shadowed at PCP either.

Do you think it'd be worth it to try and shadow some type of primary care doc before my interview in about a 3 weeks?
I've shadowed OBGYN, general surgery, neurology, EM, etc.

I wasn't asked that but I believe a few others were... I think if you shadow a PCP this late it may seem like you're just doing it just to fit their mold wouldn't it? maybe if you present it the right way they'll see it as you just wanting to learn more but honestly I wouldn't worry about it; you already got the II! they just wanna get to know you a little better now... just be yourself, everyone there is unbelievably welcoming and friendly

Hm yea thats what I thought also if I did it just now. Honestly have nothing against primary care either I tried to shadow one but it seems most don't work on weekends and I work full time during the week so it didnt pan out.

But thats good to hear about the interview, I think I'm interested in everything but if they ask I would probably mention some sort of pediatrics as I have volunteering roles with kids so at least I could back it up somehow haha

Also I didnt know OBGYN counted as primary care? Some sites I looked at said it does who knows

I have no experience with PCP and TBH they don't ask about it at all so I wouldn't worry. They want more committeed physicians than anything. But during the interview one way to help is to say how you would benefit from the MesH and PCP experiences. Because you want to do X Y or Z you won't have that much exposure to PCP but they QSOM would help you learn from that and provide insights not available before.

They said mine finished the first round, going to the second round. But that's not saying much, because even if the first step is a no it still goes to the second step for a confirmation from the dean (they said the dean's decision is the one that really matters). The guy did say that they are mostly being reviewed in the order that they came in.

No problem! I called allll of the schools I applied to because the silence was killing me. Quinnipiac had one of the nicest admissions officers. I was complete July 13th. He said that they received a lotttt on July 1st.

You're so on top of it! I was complete a month after you so I'm guessing I won't hear back for a while LOL

Can concur. I also called and he said something similar. I was completed late July so very likely I won't be hearing back for ages, if at all.
 
Has anyone had success in sending updates? I have reason to send a significant update but don't want to send it too early...

I sent one late September and got II early November, idk if it helped

I was complete in late August and uploaded an update on the research I'm working on in early November. Still waiting for any news here..

I was complete in July and sent an update in October.. Nothing here either. My friend who is an MS1 here said Netter is very open to updates and she thinks it helped her get an interview last year
