Congrats on the acceptance! I interviewed the same day but I have not heard back yet, do you think this means a rejection or waitlist?

I’m in the same boat haha. I’m hoping for the best, but assuming the worst at this point.

@MDProspect I received my complete email August 1st, is it possible to get an II? or my chances are over?
I got my complete email first week of August last year and was invited to an interview at the end of August of 2016. They are interviewing into late April so I wouldn't really worry right now.

Did you check your Junk folder?

PSA: Always check your spam folder. RFU emails especially are notorious for being redirected from the inbox.
No kidding! You can say that again! My II from Univ of IL sat in my Junk folder for a week before I had the brains to check it. I almost missed the invite. Don't know why I forget to check the Junk folder; it's like all the pressure I'm under is making my brain malfunction... But nvm, I'm going to interview this Friday with an acceptance in hand. Much relief!!

Yup I found mine tucked away somewhere in my email (not the junk folder). I was accepted! I really was expecting the worst before finding that email. Really nice to get an acceptance!
How wonderful! I'm really glad for you!!

Sitting here on team "interviewed 9/15, but radio silence" and it is a sad, compulsive email-checking wastelannnnddddd...

Worth saying it again: did you check spam folder?

I appreciate this (because I am totally the type of person to forget to do that!) and since seeing that other people did and found the email, I've checked and nada. The optimist in me says "hey at least it's not a rejection" and the pragmatist in me says "...yet."

Oh well, back to the ol' med school cycle "chill out and wait".

Don't lose hope yet! It is still very early in the cycle. In most cases, no news means they are still reviewing your file. Which means there is hope yet. Keep the faith!

Congrats to everyone accepted! It seems like there is a high post-interview acceptance rate (from SDN), unless those rejected/wait listed just aren't posting.

Anyone know how their MD/PhD program works?
"Works" in what sense? Was there a particular question you had about it?
IIRC there's no direct admission, you start as MD then apply after the 1st or 2nd year to also do the PhD. You can also do this if you decide you really like research and want to do more in the middle of med school, regardless of prior intent.

Yup that pretty much answered it! Haha didn't realize the ambiguity of the message when I sent it but I meant in terms of is there direct admission into the Md/Phd dual degree program or is it something you can work towards in your first couple years of med school

Happy to be of service😎

Can someone explain the interview day format? I have received ZERO information since scheduling it. Obviously not looking for specific questions, just want to make sure I understand what I'm about to do. Never did a MMI... there are so many different websites that say contradicting things. Do you summarize the situation before replying? Is it actually a combination of ethical / critical thinking / current health/societal issues? Do they throw in any of the standards... Tell me about yourself? Why med? Why this school? Really just looking for ANYTHING (videos, websites, input) that will give me some sort of guidance.

I'm in your spot as well.

We signed an NDA, so can't really share details about what the MMI questions consist of. General answer tips:

1. Summarize situation
2. State both sides
3. Pick your poison and defend

Have you tried Google? There's a ton of info out there.

In general, there will be 3 parts to the day - the MMI, a tour, and a Q&A with some current students. The tour and the Q&A are your chance to ask whatever you want to know about the school and get a feel for whether you like RFU. What you ask won't be reported back, so relax and get the info you need.
The MMI is standard MMI format and that's all I can tell you about it. There are lots of good practice resources online (here are a couple: Bioethics | Premed | Columbia University School of Professional Studies; http://assets.ce.columbia.edu/pdf/biet/advanced-MMI-prep.pdf). Basically, read the prompt, ask a couple clarifying questions if you want/need a minute to think, outline the possibilities in the situation, pick a side and defend. So long as you take a reasonable, empathetic position and can explain your thought process, you'll be fine.
Also, fyi, admissions does check this thread periodically, so if anybody thinks they can slip under the radar and share MMI questions despite the NDA, you can be guaranteed that you won't get those questions in your interview.

Could you PM me the last email from Admissions you received regarding your interview day? I want to make sure they're giving enough information out in time before interviews.

Haven't gone through this thread but any OOS individuals recieve any updates? I was complete on Aug 3 and haven't heard anything. Just emailed them to check the status since there isn't a portal (none that i am aware of at least)

Completed since the 7th of August and nothing, does anyone know if RFU rejects pre-interview?

II! OOS LizzyM 71, Complete mid-September as well. Does anyone know how long these interviews typically last? Just so I can arrange travel.

Congratulations. I was complete in mid September as well but haven't gotten any good news yet. The email said it would take them 8-10 weeks. So I was expecting my update somewhere between November 6th and 10th. Hopefully I will be hearing from them soon. Good luck on your interviews.

I was complete 8/4 and still haven't heard anything (last Friday was week 11)... but then again, I have a low LizzyM (64-66) so maybe you'll do better @Cell Nucleus! Good luck!
