I am applying the upcoming cycle but having been lurking some of these threads to get an idea what the process will be like. OOS student. Looking at this thread seeing people interview then months later not hear anything has me questioning whether to apply to this school. How ridiculous. People interviewing in October haven't heard back? Geez

Last year I heard back within a month. I don't have any insight into why decisions have been slow to come this year, but each cycle is different. I wouldn't let it keep you from applying next year.

My post October and November post interview people, has anyone called admissions and gotten through recently?

I'm about to call in, if not. I know it doesn't change when we'll hear back but I'll take any updates I can get. I'm still on waiting on my interview schools to get back to me. I just want to know what my plan is this for this year.

Interviewed in October. I called earlier in January and did not really get a strong answer as to what is going on. Please update us on here if you do call - ideally they should provide a timeframe.

Congratulations my friend and good luck for your interview. This post is a bit reassuring for me - all hope of an II is not yet lost.
Well have more hope! I’ve already been accepted to a school in my home state and I can’t see myself choosing an out of state school at this point. I will be declining my II. Hope you get this II! Best of luck

April 30. You can only hold one acceptance at that point, so schools get a better idea of how many spots they truly have left.
Thank you for that! I knew about the April 30th deadline but just didn't know that it was called traffic day.

As an admitted student who will most likely be attending, the lack of acceptances is making even me nervous. I want to know that I will have classmates that matriculate with me next year lol. Thinking of calling and asking what’s up. Maybe because I’ve been admitted they’ll give me a more concrete answer.

I (and a lot of others on this forum) would love you for this.

You will be in the class with former BMS, PMP, students from the linked program, and with accepted external applicants.

Complete since mid-august. Have heard nothing from Rosalind Franklin. Anyone else still waiting to hear back?

I called this afternoon. Called the main number, they forwarded me to the wrong place. I found the admissions number, called it, but then it went to voicemail. Finally, I called the number that left me a voicemail the day before my interview and at last! I spoke to someone. But they basically said you can expect to hear by the end of April and offered no more information... I even tried to inquire about no acceptances since October. It was probably the person I talked to though. When I called in January, the person I spoke with was much more willing to answer my questions and provide information.

I really wish there was more transparency with the medical school admissions process, especially here. We all have been waiting for so long after being told 4-6 weeks for a decision.

April? Wtf... Does anyone have nominations for worst admissions committee???!

It's pretty disrespectful to let people spend hundreds of dollars to go interview, promise 1-2 month turn around time, and leave them hanging through all November, December, January, February, March, and April. Zero apologies, zero updates.

I heard that when they were on probation it was because of student maltreatment issues and disregard of student complaints. These actions don't make it look like they made progress. I liked the school, but seriously, I am 99% sure that this is the worst admissions committee out there.

I should clarify. They did not say I would have to wait until the end of April for a decision but I should hear by then at the latest-- so telling me what I already know. Honestly, I think the person I spoke with did not know the answer to my questions so they just gave me the standard reply. I'm going to try admissions again and hope that I talk to another person who might have more information like the person I spoke with last month did.

Just got an II today at 10am, completed 8/3 lol, hold email in December so there is indeed hope left! Going in on Feb 28th for afternoon invite. OOS, ORM, LM 70. Does anybody know if the class is almost full yet? I skimmed through the pages of the forum and didn't see many acceptances other than some Oct ones

The class is not full. I don’t know why there haven't been acceptances though.

Does anyone know if Rosalind Franklin is receptive to update letters? And if so is email the best method?

Thanks so much! Congrats to those that received an interview today!
They are not.

II this morning, I had actually been put on hold back in December, so there is still hope for those on hold. The latest interview date available was April 6th, though I doubt that will be the final one since I know that last year people interviewed up until the final week in april. Also, I know that interview invites were sent out as late as mid April of last year.

I called about the status of my application and all I got was that it’s under review and the last interviews are in April. Nothing about the next meeting or anything like that
Why do I have a strong feeling that they're not releasing acceptances until April ...

Just out of curiosity, do you or anyone else know why do they have to have a full class by then? Is this just for RFU?
Its an AAMC rule. By March 15 each college must accept at least as many students as seats available. So they may continue to accept additional students after March 15

Most schools accept considerably more students than seats available.

Here's to hoping March 15th is our day.

I received an II yesterday. Does anybody know if this school interviews applicants for the waitlist? I'm interviewing awfully late (4/6).

No, you can be accepted at any time regardless of your interview date. There were people last year who interviewed in late April and got admitted right away.

Exactly, the rule just says that by March 15th they need to have given out as many acceptances as there are spots in the class. Every school gives out more acceptances than they have room for because no school has a matriculation rate of 100%. For a school like RFU, I bet the the number of acceptances they give out is 2.5-3x the number of spots there are in the incoming class.

Interview Invite yesterday. Y'all I was complete July 1st! Dates in Feb, March and April.
EDIT: When I click on those dates it says "no interviews match your selections" for all of them.

So this AAMC traffic rule isn't really a RULE, but more like a suggestion. There is no penalty to schools if they don't follow the traffic rules and not all schools choose to follow them.

I hope RF chooses to follow this one tho!

I'm pretty sure its a rule you have to follow to be able to use AMCAS as a school, however, the rule is that they must offer at least the same number acceptances as seats, so if they offer at least 180 odd acceptances then they comply with the rule

I based what I said off of the fact that other schools that use amcas have broken traffic rules (specifically, the one about $100 deposit... I've been charged more than that). I wouldn't be surprised if other rules get broken too. I asked some adcoms about it, and they said these aren't binding rules but suggestions.

But I def hope you end up being right and RF accepts more ppl by then!!! 🙂
