I’ve been waiting for this email since yesterday and haven’t received anything! Anyone having the same problem? Is there anywhere else we can check our status?
I interviewed in September and they told us they will let us know on the 13th:/

There are a ton of people who love this city and would be extraordinarily excited to attend this school. If you're talking bad about it already, like it's not good enough for you, then look else where.

Perhaps I just read your post in a negative tone, but come on.

You're misunderstanding, I would be so thrilled to go here you have no idea. All I am saying is that from friends who go here and know most if not all their med school class, buffalo was not anyone's number one choice. Just because a school isn't my number one doesn't mean I wouldn't be thrilled to go there....

Buffalo is actually the second highest ranked SUNY. High 60's if I remember compared to Stony in the high 50's. The other SUNY's are not even ranked.

Perhaps I jumped to a conclusion too quickly. Buffalo just gets so much undeserved hate (towards both the medical school and the city as a whole), either overtly or more subtly ("...buffalo was not anyone's number one choice.").

I can definitely say that there are many medical students in Buffalo whose first choice was Buffalo, so you're patently mistaken here.

Hello all, interview here yesterday. Just got the email that I am on the WL. They weren't kidding when they said a ton of people are waitlisted.
 
Do you guys know if we should send anything to claim the waitlist spot or an update or anything?
 
Is there anyone OOS that goes to UB that has applied for NY residency after their first year? I am OOS and seriously considering going here but I just want to get conformation that it's possible to get instate tuition after first year. Or if anyone knows how to go about the process that would be super helpful, I couldn't find tons of info online. Thanks!!

So I'm not totally sure (also just an applicant) but as far as I know the SUNYs will help you through the whole process and try to get you IS tuition after your first year. Might be worth emailing their admissions and just asking what the kind of support is for this.
 
Do you receive IIs by email? the status update page doesn't really seem to tell anything, has anyone received any sort of update besides a II invite? such as a rejection/hold?
 
A questioned to those who have interviewed or know:

The interview instructions say: "A 2” x 2” photograph of yourself is required for submission which will be attached to your file upon completion of interview. PLEASE PRINT YOUR NAME AND AMCAS NUMBER ON THE BACK OF THE PHOTO." Am I supposed to bring a photograph of myself or will they have one for me?

You are supposed the bring the picture with you
 
Just interviewed, awesome school!!! Definitely top of the list. The school blew me away.
