Riiight? I thought I wrote a pretty decent secondary for this one
Near a month after receiving the secondary, unable to say the exact dateTo people who got interviews, complete date?
That's similar to my complete date (8/5). Almost missed my invite because it ended in the promotions tab of my Gmail. It's wild. I threw in NYU as a bit of a YOLO move.II today! Complete 8/6
WHAT?LOL NYU just became tuition free. There goes my chances lol.
Source: I work for the SOM
Man that 29% post interview acceptance rate makes it all the more stressful
Is it 29%? I thought it was 36%?
Where is the data for this? MSAR? Or elsewhere?276/963 for OOS applicants
Is it about the same percentage for IS applicants?276/963 for OOS applicants
84/248 for IS. Data from most up todate US NewsIs it about the same percentage for IS applicants?
+1ahh probably means they are going to accept far fewer students now. I know I'm officially going there if accepted now lol
I wouldn’t say so? They’ve been working on reducing their class size every year to be able to do this - the incoming class is ~100, whereas the second year class is ~120. I’m pretty sure 100 was the goal, from what i remember of my interview last year. So next year should hold steady?ahh probably means they are going to accept far fewer students now. NYU's website says the following: "NYU School of Medicine is proud to offer all current students and future matriculated students enrolled in our MD degree program full-tuition scholarships, regardless of need or merit. We also offer additional merit-based scholarships and need-based loans for students who need assistance covering additional medical school costs, and provide one-on-one financial literacy education and debt counseling."II yesterday! Complete 8/6.
Anyone have an idea if NYU will still offer merit scholarships to cover living expenses? UCLA offers 20% of their incoming class a full cost-of-attendance scholarship including living+tuition.
Mind giving your stats? Was complete around the same time hehII yesterday! Complete 8/6.

$600 million !!! Next breaking headline will be NYU pulls in $600 million in application fees because everyone and their mother wants a piece of that pieJust looked it up because I couldn't believe it. Here's a link to the WSJ discussing it!!
NYU Offers Full-Tuition Scholarships for All Medical Students
II prep just became 10000000x more stressful but also exciting!
Lol I’m wondering the same now that I see the tuition newsIs it too late/ worth it to apply here? Does this school use rolling admissions? LizzyM 71/72
I'm in the same boat haha. Maybe it would be worth throwing out an app now, but I feel like I'm just joining the bandwagon. Is it too late/ worth it to apply here? Does this school use rolling admissions? LizzyM 71/72
Ya I would love to go here but my chances already seem low stats wise for this school. Plus that bandwagon is a great way for them to make more money to fund those scholarships lolI'm in the same boat haha. Maybe it would be worth throwing out an app now, but I feel like I'm just joining the bandwagon.
Congrats on your II! Honestly, even if your LizzyM is 70, your WARS is 82 like you say, and that really says something about the quality of your overall app. It sounds like you have some really valuable experiences. And 4 II's already? You must really have something outside of your stats that is attention-grabbing for sure, so I wouldn't worry about it at all!I'm sure NYU has known they were going to make this announcement for a while now. My question is, do you all believe that the IIs they've already sent were with this in mind? I'm feeling total imposter syndrome having gotten an II, knowing my stats aren't really up to par with NYU and seeing you all talk about how it's going to get more competitive. I'm so excited about this school but at the same time my stress levels are now on overdrive.
Thanks for the vote of confidence! It honestly helped wish you the best of luck!Congrats on your II!
