Have an interview coming up here soon. I was wondering if the interviews at this point are for waitlist spots or if late interviewees have the same chances of being accepted as someone who attends an early interview?

It’d be a waste of time and resources for a school to interview for their waitlist. You have as good a chance as anyone else

When I was offered an interview spot (the very last day of interviews in April) Dr Callahan specifically told me I was not just interviewing for a waitlist spot and I had the same chance as everyone else for an actual seat. Good luck!

ugh yes, a little glimmer of hope

In all honesty, this school (apart from Einstein) is probably my last legit chance at another II. Love everything about the school and have shown interest multiple times.

Hoping for the best, but I know the inevitable pre-II is gonna sting more than most.

Interviewed last week. I would definitely end my cycle if I go into Jeff, and had mentioned this in the optional secondary. I submitted a letter on intent a couple days after interview, reaffirming my feelings for Jeff and how I fell in love with the school even more during interview day, and made it very clear this is 110% the place I want to be at. I interviewed really well with both the student and faculty.

Got put on a high priority wait list yesterday. Not really sure what my chances are, and I feel like I already played my cards submitting a letter of intent (not sure if I should reach out again closer to the end of March). I guess it's a waiting game and I'll have to be patient until April 🙁

Hi TTP 1776,

I am sorry to hear this! But, know that there is hope. Many, many students are placed on the HPWL each year and do end up coming here. At this point it is just a matter of keeping the committee informed of what you are doing by sending in updates and letters of intent. You can send in as many as you want so do not be afraid that you have used up all of your cards. I hope things work out and please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Chip 1, thank you, that at least makes me feel better and not lose all hope lol. I guess this'll teach me more patience haha. Last week's letter of intent also included an update with award I received from my school and 4 publications, so I'm not sure what another update would entail in a month. I imagine, I could just shoot Dean Callahan another email and let her know I'm still interested?

No problem! Yeah that sounds good and if anything else comes up in the meantime do not hesitate to send that as well!

How significant do you think the updates should be? Since thanksgiving I’ve sent 3 updates and a new letter of rec. I started working on a new work project (I do clinical research) but I don’t gave much else to say because I’ve been doing the same stuff with volunteering without any promotions or anything. Btw this would be pre-II updates. My chances are slim since Jeff averages multiple MCAT scores

Received an II earlier this week. There were 3 dates left in March and April. I will probably not attend after getting into one of my top choices on Monday. Hopefully, it will go to one of you guys!

How many people are usually in an interview group? Just had an interview with 48 people haha

They are pretty important especially when it comes down to the last few interview spots. There are obviously no guarantees, but they can only help your case

How much should I worry about being in the 10th percentile GPA for accepted students if I got an II?

I agree. That has all been looked at before receiving the interview. So, just be yourself and you will do great!

Aighty aight. Deferred from the first school I interviewed at and rejected from the only other interview. Just sent out a mass of update letters so here’s to hoping for the best 😉

What does a typical week of classes look like here? Specifically I’m interested in is how many days of required activities are there per week? Like would it be plausible to take a long weekend and visit family(ie fly out Friday morning and come back on Sunday night)?

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are lecture days whereas Tuesday and Thursday are CBL and pathology days. CBL is mandatory therefore you should definitely be there on those days. However, Monday and Wednesday are mostly free because lectures are recorded and you can choose not to go to class. Friday’s we have quizzes in the morning but you can drop one. So, if you really need to go home one weekend it’s definitely possible. Just know our schedules change from week to week so sometimes we do have mandatory things on Monday And Wednesday. You just need to plan ahead!

Are there any current Jeff students here who were on the HPWL and then eventually got off? If so, please PM me! I absolutely love Jefferson, I've lived in the city of Philly the last 5 years and Jeff truly is my dream school and it'd be amazing to go there so any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Same!! (Don’t live in Philly though)

Do waitlists/rejections get released on Wednesdays as well? Just trying to see if the post-interview silence from Jeff is bad news or that my app just hasn't been presented to the committee yet 🤔

For those accepted, anyone else not able to login into your Jeff email?
