R here today
Hey sorry to hear that.. but do you mind sharing when you were complete and Lizzy M?
Also, good luck with the rest of the cycle. Don't lose hope!!
R here today
There is room behind the security desk to store your luggage. A few people including me left our suitcases there the whole day!For those that have interviewed, how closely do they follow their schedule? Does the day really end at 2 PM? Also, is there space to store luggage for those of us traveling?
Complete mid July and silence, you're not aloneAny idea where they are on interviews? been complete since august 1 and all silence haha
when were you complete?II just now, LM 66, OOS. Guessing the interview went to me after some ppl withdrew theirs!
I submitted my app 7/26 but my letters weren’t sent until after 8/9, so I’m assuming I was officially complete some time after 8/9. Never got the “complete” email though, just the one saying thank you for submitting your app.when were you complete?

open with faculty. closed with student and other interviewees
January 31st! That was the earliest available date lmaoWhen did you schedule your interview?
Are the interviews open file or closed file?
Yes that is what it says on MSAR (which i assume most people consider more reliable than some spreadsheet lol)@Ferrous
according to some spreadsheet that someone with way too much time on their hands made, the interviews at Geisinger are as follows:
"Interviewing applicants meet one-on-one with a medical student and a faculty member for 30 minutes each. Interviews are closed-file."
Lmao whoops just ignore melmfao
1) the spreadsheet was compiled by me
2) the data on that spreadsheet is straight from MSAR or the school's website and a URL is given

Here are the rest of their interview dates: It looks like they're interviewing through February

My interview was a little strange. The interviewer was very interesting / nice but only wanted to talk to me about one of my ECs (non-clinical college club). I'm actually kind of nervous because he only asked me one formal interview question that I'm pretty sure I fumbled. The time he didn't spend asking me about the club he spent talking about the school and was clearly v passionate about the culture and growth of the institution. The student interview was a lot more formulaic. Mine had a list of questions and left time at the end for mine. It was really conversational and mostly about personality traits and relevant experiences, things like 'what kind of experiences do you have working as a part of a team', 'three words your friends would use to describe you' etc.I'd love to hear more from people that interviewed. Sounds like two sem-closed file (faculty have all but academics, students only have secondary). Are they typically laid-back? What's the vibeeee

Would you say that I am interviewing for A waitlist seat though ?if you have no acceptances, then yes, it's worth it
Thanks a lot for the sincere response m8. I really appreciate itI don't think they interview for their waitlist but it's advantageous to interview earlier at schools with rolling admissions obviously. I'd personally try to make Dec 2 work or call and see if any earlier dates opened in January or later December from people cancelling. I don't know the best course of action
Right now, no. Generally speaking, they send invites to OOS students a little bit later in the cycle. Last I heard about a year ago, waitlist interviews are offered sometime in January and February.Would you say that I am interviewing for A waitlist seat though ?
True. I am OOSRight now, no. Generally speaking, they send invites to OOS students a little bit later in the cycle. Last I heard about a year ago, waitlist interviews are offered sometime in January and February.
Congrats! And damn, I got an II few weeks back and the only date available was Jan. 31st. Wish I had that Dec. option /:I just received an II, but have no scheduled my date yet. Is it still worth interviewing? The earliest date available is February, unless i pick December 2nd which is unlikely due to other commitments during that time.
Welp. Seems like I might be screwed.they do
Later at this very school though? They're already at Feb. interview dates, what the heck? I was complete early Sept and haven't gotten an R or an II ( apparently they do hard R's up front?)That’s not true . I have many friends who had Interviews later throughout the cycle and have been accepted . You got this
I would honestly be relieved to just get the R it's the silence that's stressing me out.I mean they likely would not interview in February (or later) if they knew they weren't taking anyone - it would be a waste of everyone's time. Also, they're pretty PA focused, taking 70% of the class from there, so that could play a role in it. You never know why schools are or aren't giving you IIs or Rs.
I hear you, the silence sucks, the waiting sucks, the whole process in all sucks. Crossing my fingers for you that you'll hear good newsI would honestly be relieved to just get the R it's the silence that's stressing me out.
I agree but don’t wanna read too much into things! This is the only MD school I applied to (applied to 2 DO schools as well, just feel like I wasn’t ready until late and didn’t wanna waste money). The only interview I saw was mid February so I went for it... I wish I could call and see if there are earlier dates opened but I think they’d look down on that? Some are waiting to hear back after submitting it in July. Take that to mean what you want 🙂
How was the interview ? Was it laid back?Accepted today! OOS. Interviewed 10/9
I thought it was laid back. Be yourself and normal. How was the interview ? Was it laid back?
