Hey everyone, I'm a current medical student at Hofstra. A huge congratulations to those who were accepted today! I would like to relay a message from the admissions office below:

"We just sent acceptances out and want anyone to be aware that they may encounter issues accessing our terms and conditions and paying the deposit in the Hofstra Portal if they are using Google Chrome on a Mac. If you have a Mac, we recommend using Safari instead."

Interviewed early September, accepted this morning via email. In-state, non-trad.

First A of the cycle after two disappointing waitlists. Very excited about Hofstra! Congrats to all those accepted today, and best of luck to those still waiting to hear!

PS: To those waiting to hear, neither the email heading or the body of the email explicitly said acceptance (although the body did include the word congratulations). They both indicated that there was a status update and then the official offer was in an attachment. Caused me a minute of panic because I assumed it was bad news buried inside. Don’t let the email title scare you!

Still can't accept the terms and conditions on portal? Just me? It seems to be extremely slow to respond and unable to process my request when I click the necessary buttons.

Figured it out -- Don't use Chrome even for non-Macs. Also, paid the deposit (got the confirmation email), but the bubble didn't fill in on the portal? Anyone else?
 
For those still waiting to hear back post interview. In the portal under "status" did your interview status ever change to "completed" or did it remain with the "scheduled on date"? Thanks!

what are peoples thoughts on the silence here? i know there was a pre-II R wave twice now and i was spared but still have not heard anything, i sent in an update in middle of novemeber but that has been it

I'm pretty sure last year they were still handing out interviews in January. No R means that you haven't been rejected yet. You may still get an interview or be rejected later.

I interviewed that week as well and haven't heard back, and I know someone earlier in this thread interviewed on 11/25 and didn't hear anything. Wondering if maybe our week hasn't heard back yet.

+1 interviewed 11/25, and have not heard back
 
im late october (10/24) and still silence. I am really confused as the school made it sound like we would hear back before the holidays.

The faculty interviewer even hyped me up by saying she will give a strong "yes". Could be good-cop bad-cop, who knows.
:shrug:We just have to wait. Hope for the best and expect the worst. Wishing you guys the best.

it could be that they don't review chronologically but alphabetically or according to our AMCAS ID's... you just never know. Don't ever go by timing for likelihood of acceptance.
