Considering NYU sent out plain rejections just a few days ago, I'm remaining optimistic. The application deadline isn't far and soon all schools will have their final applicant pool to choose from

Maybe NYU's free tuition policy is making them a lot more choosy in who they want to interview, especially because their yield is going to be so high. Purely conjecture, but I think we all have a shot at getting out of the pre II hold.

Joining the hold squad. LM 72, OOS, complete 8/12 (submitted earlier, but committee letter was sent on this day). Honestly, given that my stats are below average for this school and I'm ORM, I'll take it.
I agree that this was a really nice email. And I'm glad NYU actually communicated with us haha.

R wave. That may be a sign of hope. I wouldn’t be surprised if all of us on hold have been ranked and they are planning to review and rank more apps. After that they’ll send out more iis. Obviously this theory would prove false if someone gets an ii soon
