Accepted!! Just received a call from Dr. griesback. Interviewed 11/5. Accepted via portal 2 days ago but got the call today!

Did you interview with him? What did you think of him? For some reason I went in with the assumption the interview was open file so i briefly talked over my resume without going to deep but now I wish I had. I'm kicking myself.

yeah I did! he knew everything about me when I walked in and just expanded on things he specifically asked me about

Do you think it's too late to get a " valid" interview invite from here? For out of state ( Massachusetts). As in, it looks like January dates are already filled, so even if I did get an II from here it would be Feb-> onward, and at that point, it may be an "interview for a spot on the WL" type thing. I feel like I've lost hope for this school...

That's actually so cruel it's terrifying. I mean I honestly don't feel good about that. ( I know your intentions with posting it but still)

I imagine many people who dont pay the deposit have decided to accept elsewhere and use not paying the deposit as there way of informing admissions they will not be accepting a position.

they give a lot of time, like I had somewhere around 2 months and as far as deposits go it wasnt bad, just 195 and its apparently used to cover your background check etc

I'm glad I did not look at the number of out of state students they matriculate when I applied, otherwise, I would not have applied here. I'm from FL with a 503 MCAT, but my GPA is lower than yours, and Rowan was my first acceptance. I realize now that they do accept many OOS students, but many, like myself, end up choosing to stay closer to home if they have an option. Don't let this OOS thing throw you off. It is a little late, but you won't get in if you don't apply.

I honestly think that anything before the March/April timeframe for DO ( since DO interviews until end of April unlike MD) should be considered safe. I mean, Goro himself said his school doesn't start to get "picky" until March/April, much less that the class is full then. I've heard that UNECOM is already full, and I thought they were an outlier but I thought it was worth it to ask.

Jan isnt that far, generally. Rowan is amazing, I'd go for it if you have the resources.

I'd go. Rowan is a top tier DO school. And they are very selective with who they give interviews to. Post-II acceptance rate is around 65%.

But if you live very far, and money is an issue, and you're content with what schools you got accepted to, then don't go. Up to you

Admissions offer on the portal around 5:15 and then got a phone call from my interviewer around 6 pm

You’ll get an email in conjunction with your the portal update but checking the portal consistently (not neurotically, there’s a difference) can’t hurt

When I went to my portal, I couldn't see any update and my 'communications' tab also hasn't updated (meaning it doesn't show that they sent this email yet). Has anyone had this issue? I'm thinking there's a delay between the email and the portal, but I just wanted to clarify with you guys in case someone also ran into this.

Check the documents upload portal. I got this this morning as well.

Yeah same ...

I ended up cancelling my interview because my flight tickets were $$$ (I got my money back) and I already paid a deposit at another school. Didn't want to gamble :/
