Hey guys,

I got this email today:
"Dear Respected Applicant,

The Admissions Committee has rendered a final decision regarding your application. Please log in to your applicant portal to see your admissions decision. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office."

When I went to my portal, I couldn't see any update and my 'communications' tab also hasn't updated (meaning it doesn't show that they sent this email yet). Has anyone had this issue? I'm thinking there's a delay between the email and the portal, but I just wanted to clarify with you guys in case someone also ran into this.

Interviewed 12/7
Committee did meet 12/20 so this is why we heard back during the holidays
and yup got the wait list email today as well. Was not a good Christmas present but at least I wasn't rejected. No change in portal just document attached in email saying you are on the wait list. I called the school and they actually answered, I was expecting no answer since its Christmas Eve but they did. I asked if I was priory or alternate and they said alternate which really sucks. This school is my #1.

Does anyone know how big the waitlist can be? Is it ranked?

I interviewed in December as well and got put on the waitlist 🙁 I got an email with a letter attached. Last year I think they didn't even get to the waitlist and were slowly taking people off the high-priority waitlist. Hopefully it's different this year?

And yes, to my knowledge the list is ranked.

From my understanding their is only one list, but I believe how people refer to it differs- HP waitlist, waitlist, alternate list. At least that's what I understood from calling when I was waitlisted. Also when asking about the ranking and position information I was told they "could not disclose" this information but intuitively I think it is. Lastly, I just want to reference last years thread in that people started moving off the waitlist in Mid January all the way to the start of class. I just wanted to share that incase anyone was losing hope. Do your best to let go of the worry and stress as I know first hand how much it can drive you crazy. Focus on yourselves, be kind to yourselves, and trust in God.

When I called and asked what was my place on the list was she did also say she couldn't disclose. But then I asked do you have different waitlists and she said yes. I asked if I was on priority and I couldn't hear what she was saying for some reason and I didn't want to say "what did you say a 4th time". But I don't think I'm on the priority, I didn't hear her say that. I was so overly emotional that I couldn't hear what she was saying.

Anyway, THANK YOU so much for posting this. I do feel so much better! I'm never going to lose hope! The harder the journey the greater the destination!

All accepted students, I wanted to clarify the steps with confirming acceptance. I already paid my acceptance fee, and I know there was a 30 day deadline that we were given to do so. With the remaining steps, does anyone know how long we have to finish them? I know the transcripts we need to send are due July 1st, 2020, but was there any due date given for the CBC forms? Also where do we find the CBC forms?

I just called someone from the admissions office. She said that even if you’re not on the priority waitlist, being on the regular waitlist is still a good position to be in. She also said the waitlist is not that long and that there will be a lot of movement in the next 6 months. Keep your head up friends!

If the class is already full why did they sent me an II yesterday? I feel so bad. Is there even a chance of being accepted?
Because it’s early enough in the cycle where a fair number of people who currently hold As are going to be admitted to other schools, thus opening a slot for you

Thanks for asking them! I feel so much better now!

I’ve been complete since July and haven’t heard anything.. 505 MCAT with 3.88 GPA and 4,000 clinical hours. Im in PA so OOS. I have an appointment with assistant Dean Paula Watkins on January 9th. Has anyone ever met with her before to discuss your application? If so how did it go?

Its great you are meeting with her! I have not met with her but it can't hurt. OOS is probably a big reason. Every school is really selective so its just so hard to know what to do. But stay in there!

I met with her. She's very helpful and very nice imo

you can request a meeting with the assistant dean? Is this a thing at medical schools?

Yeah you can, not sure about other med schools but if you go on Rowan SOM's website, you can schedule a meeting with her either via phone or in person at the school. Rowan is just a great school in terms of the admission process!

I am interviewing on January, 23rd!! Very excited! Can anyone give me some pointers? I read through the posts and noticed everyone got ask basically the same questions (why DO, why rowan, why should we accept you). This is my second interview so I know what to expect but I feel as nervous as the first one lol
is the interview open/closed file?
how was interview day? do we get to speak to any of the med students?

Thanks for the help and congrats to all the accepted students!

just got an II! However, does that mean I will be automatically waitlisted since the class is already full?

HP waitlist. Interviewed 11/13. Admissions office told me my chances of getting off are "very good" though.

Surprisingly I didn't get asked any of those questions except why Rowan at the end. We mostly talked about our passions lol but each interview is different. Yeah it's open file, so they can discuss your grades/MCAT. There are med students during the interview day that you can talk to, they provide the tour and answer questions

Another data point but my friend interviewed 12/9 and got the call today that he is on HP waitlist and the class is full.

I wouldn't worry about the fact that the class is full. Many classes are probably full by now but there is usually good movement in the waitlist as students start narrowing down schools and withdrawing their acceptances. There is a reason they're still giving out II's. I called a week ago and they said that even though I am on the regular waitlist I am still in a good position. This probably means that they do reject people post-interview and for Rowan, there will be a lot of waitlist movement in the next 6 months (she said this too). Don't worry friends, take every opportunity you get to show you're an asset.

I'm glad I did not look at the number of out of state students they matriculate when I applied, otherwise, I would not have applied here. I'm from FL with a 503 MCAT, but my GPA is lower than yours, and Rowan was my first acceptance. I realize now that they do accept many OOS students, but many, like myself, end up choosing to stay closer to home if they have an option. Don't let this OOS thing throw you off. It is a little late, but you won't get in if you don't apply.
Hey, I would like to message you and talk to you about your application since my stats are similar to yours. However, I can't message you privately due to your settings.

Interview day was very relaxed - my interview day there were about 8-10 other interviewees and we all chatted while others were interviewing. My interviewer asked those general questions along with questions along the lines of tell me about yourself, strengths/weaknesses. It was very conversational and was open file. I was nervous walking in but once we started talking I felt extremely comfortable.
Our campus tour was with two medical students - one in the traditional curriculum and one in the PBL curriculum. Not sure if they are all like that tho but def all with current med students who are eager to answer any questions you have.

Since the class is already full, does that mean anybody that interviewed will automatically be placed on the waitlist? I interviewed in December and thought it went well but now I'm worried since the class is full🙁

I called them today ... I also interviewed in Dec. and I found out today that I got waitlisted... I spoke to Karen and she said that they are expecting some movement off the list and that last year that had movement up until the day before orientation .... I would give them a call and see what they have to say... there is still a chance!!

Thank you for your response! It is a bit concerning that I haven't seen any acceptances recently on here but I'll still keep my hopes up for now. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get off the list!

Anyone know if there is an accepted students Facebook page?
Hi, sent secondary last month, no interview or rejection yet. Does any one knows if they are still sending interviews or they are already closed for this year's interview cycle?

This is what their website says:

"The Admissions Committee reviews applications and begins to invite prospective students to campus in early September. Interviews continue through the end of April."

I'm sure they're slowing down the pace now (as every school is) because the class seems to be getting full and the bulk of interviews are sent out in the first half of the cycle. But besides that, no one would really know exactly when they stop sending interviews. There's still always hope till the end of the cycle!!

Spoke too soon lol. Placed on alternate list. 12/14 interview; LM 67; IS; hrtbrkn

To any current students, are lectures mandatory/ how much time do you spend in lecture per week?

I read last year's thread and no one got off of the alternate list and they had nearly 100 students on the high priority waitlist (which they almost took them all off of). So for those of us just "waitlisted" it might be game over :/

SDN has such a small population of people who actually post and every year is different so it’s not realistic to assume these kinds of things based on a sample size like this.
