How many areas did you guys list for "the area (or areas) of medicine interested". I'm having just 2, does it seem kind of lazy and bad?

Guys, really just be honest here. Pick at least one though. You don’t want to get to an interview later and when they ask you about your interest in xyzology, you would look puzzled & say “huh?”

When it says area of medicine does that only mean speciality or does it also mean like academic medicine, academic research, etc.?

What are y'all writing for the honor code essay? I'm really struggling with that one.

I wrote about experiences from my life, starting with an experience when I was young and progressing through how I tried to keep high personal standards. My undergrad university also had an honor code, so I talked about how I tried to keep it as well, and tied it all into TAMU's honor code.

Good luck though, hope this helps.

They told me August 1st and I didn't get any options. But it said I can call and reschedule for extenuating circumstances

Mine was the same. I'm currently far from Texas until August 9th but I don't think having to travel and miss time in lab counts as an extenuating circumstance. They had an option to accept August 1st or withdraw your app!! @pHDole I look forward to meeting you there!!

When did your app transmit? Looks like the invites are going to May transmit apps.
Transmitted 5/23! That could be why. I don't think it's worth reading into that stuff too much 🙂 A few other schools I applied to started sending out interviews and I haven't gotten one yet. It could just be a question of whose desk your app lands on and how fast they go through them

Does anyone know how long it takes for A&M to mark LORs as received after TMDSAS transmits them? The website says 4-6 weeks, but is it actually that long? Thanks!

My page for A&M said “Under Review” well before my committee packet was even submitted. So I take it they don’t wait for LORs. For other schools though, it took between 1-3 days from TMDSAS receipt to being marked complete. Did you take CASPer? Maybe that’s the hold up?

Oh my problem is just that TMDSAS is taking forever to process my LORs, and I was worried that A&M might delay my app even further. I've finished all other parts of the app - just waiting on LORs.

From my experience, A&M updated my application the day after TMDSAS processed my LOR. I'm sure it'll be alright 🙂

App complete 7/15

LizzyM 70.4, cGPA 3.64, MCAT 515, out of state but I went to Baylor and I'm working in Texas right now. Still, not expecting much love from Texas schools cus of being OOS. Good Luck everyone!

If you are working in Texas, what makes you OOS?

According to TMDSAS, you have to have been to "gainfully employed" for a full 12 months before October of the cycle to be in-state. I've been dependent on my parents throughout college, just graduated and started working in May, so technically I'm still considered a Californian. Seems like TMDSAS put this rule in place to prevent people like me from claiming residency here. Pretty much wrecks my chances with Texas schools but I'm giving it a go anyways.

Didnt realize 12 months by October. I would think if you started in June and next June it will be 12 months but i guess it does not work like that.

Your parents should have bought some land in Texas last year!

Haha yeah that might have been good!

Still haven't gotten a secondary from here.. submitted mid-June. Does this mean I probably won't get one? I'm OOS.

You have to create an account first to get the secondary.
MD Application Requirements

From the TMDSAS website:
Applicants must create an account in our Application Processing Portal to receive the Secondary Application.

The Texas A&M University COM accepts only credit cards for payment of the non-refundable application fee of $60. The secondary application and fee are required for consideration.

Wow I feel like an idiot.. thank you!!

Idk if there will be a problem with my secondary. I submitted it on 6/20 but my school's committee letter didn't transmit until july 7. And still, TMDSAS says they haven't received my LOR. What should I do? I'm freaking out because my app is probably sitting on a desk without any review just because of my LOR.

3 weeks (21 days) is typical for TMDSAS to match letters with your file and mark them received. Next week after the 28th if no sign, send them a message on the internal messaging function of the TMDSAS site.
