UCI received my primary on 7/24 and I haven't gotten a secondary and I'm instate. Should I still hope they are sending them out or would it be worth it to email them about it?

Literally same! My stats are low though so maybe my app didn’t make it past the screen algorithm
 
i just received an email with the supplemental application for LEAD-ABC, but I haven't even interviewed for the regular MD seat. i submitted my secondary in early-August and was marked complete the same day. kinda confused as to why im receiving this application now because i was under the impression i'd be considered for the additional programs after acceptance? did anyone else receive an additional application link for the desired programs they selected on the secondary app?

lol im more so confused about the application. seems really awkward to just email an application as an attachment. theres also no due date given or anything

just got this as well...curious if its sent to only specific applicants they are interested in or if it is sent to all who selected that they were interested in the secondary...

Pretty sure it’s an automated email that’s sent to all applicants who checked the box on the original secondary. I got an R and just got that email lmaooooo

I also got this email and was under the same impression that this was a program that I can potentially apply to after gaining acceptance to the UCISOM. Do you mind if I PM you as well?

Does anyone know if not filling out that LEADABC secondary will impact the application process? I think I accidentally said I wanted to be a part of that program.
 
did anyone receive the LEAD-ABC supplemental app after an interview invite/attendance?

@everyone regarding LEAD-ABC, I just spoke with my school's pre-health advisor who said:
- program supplements are standard, even if UCI's way of doing them is a little wonky. don't take it as a personal indication of interest
- expected deadline is probably 2-4 weeks given how secondaries go but it's worth calling admissions office for more details (especially if you're particularly interested in the program)
- call the admissions office to ask if you can still be considered for MD without LEAD-ABC

I was casually seeing what schools allow updates and checked my UC Irvine portal.
HOLY EFFF I apparently got an II on 10/1 but NEVER received the email. Its not in spam, not in the trash. Nowhere.
UCI gives you 2 weeks to respond to an interview. I could have almost lost my interview T-T

Wow, I’m glad you caught it in time! Good luck on your interview! 🙂 I hope they fix the glitch but for now I’ll check my portal every 5 min instead of every 10 lmao🤣
 
If you look at past UCI threads it seems that they do send out decisions a couple of days after Oct 15th.
 
i just got an II few days ago and there was only one date in November left. Is that when they are scheduling them for? It seemed like really short notice, so maybe somebody else withdrew?
 
i was complete back in july. should i send an update letter or just wait 🙁 seems like not many II have been going on recently
 
Did anyone hear back directly from Admissions about withdrawing from the LEAD program and how it would affect MD interviews?

Yeah but he/she is well within his right to send an update or inquire about one without someone telling them that they are " complaining". That was way out of line.

Other people's lack of success doesn't preclude this individual from trying to do the best that they can.

During my interview I met a girl in the program who is white, but has experience with ABC communities abroad and has demonstrated her commitment to serving them as a physician. So no, you do not need to identify with the community to apply for the program.

From the threads from previous years it seems like anytime from now to early November for the most part. Most likely around Halloween though.

I've interpreted sending updates as there really needs to be an update that you're sharing, such as a new job, new volunteering experience, or something like that and explain what you've learn/liked/made you better etc. I don't think an update for the sake of an update would be the right move

No know, I have good updates. I'm just concerned about their timing.

As in, should I wait till I hear back first, or should I just send them anyway?

(A pure guess) If you think an adcom member would see it favorably and could increase chance of getting an A, I'd say yes. I know some other schools I interviewed at were against updates but I don't remember UCI was
 
For those of you who have received IIs recently, were you able to pick a date for interview, or do they give you a fixed date? If you don't mind sharing, when is the earliest date for interview?
