How should I go about writing updates for UCI? I'd like to incorporate a few other updates into a nice, cohesive letter but find it difficult with only 500 characters.

Should I submit a separate letter for each update category or just submit one that's like ~100 characters over?

Do we update on the portal? I want to send one too but couldn't find if they accept them

I looked back at old threads and it seems like Irvine interviews until end of April and people get II as late as March/April. So I'm just assuming if you haven't gotten the R then there's still a chance. 🙂

Yes, you can always ask. I asked another med school, and they gave me a date of when to hear back.

Maybe around April? The checklist in the acceptance packet mentioned the deadline to accept financial aid offers was April-July.

I interviewed early Dec. and they said probably early January for decisions. I haven’t heard anything.

Interviewed early Dec, but have not received any decision yet. Anybody in the same boat? I have heard the decision for the school takes around 6-8 weeks at the latest. Getting little worried now.

i interviewed beginning of nov, and it took me around 6 weeks to hear back, i think they release decisions in bigger batches so hang in there!

UCI really takes their time 🥲. I interviewed on 8/22/22 and heard back on 11/21/22. So roughly 3 months for me.
