Welp, mailed in my residency packet yesterday. Hopefully earlier submissions equals quicker turnaround like it did at WSU.
Ah, that's what I thought you were referring to! I was even neurotic enough to put "N/A due to portal issue" into each text box lmao. Glad you figured it out. Incredibly annoying last week trying to figure it out.I figured it out. Leave trust blank and check all the boxes on cusp and you can submit

Were you able to submit the secondary before your residency verification was sorted out? Or were they able to get you verified already?
I was able to submit the secondary but I am still compiling The verificationWere you able to submit the secondary before your residency verification was sorted out? Or were they able to get you verified already?
I shoulda done that. I just put a period...Ah, that's what I thought you were referring to! I was even neurotic enough to put "N/A due to portal issue" into each text box lmao. Glad you figured it out. Incredibly annoying last week trying to figure it out.
Is that accepted by the adcoms? I don't want to confuse them. Plus, my CASPer isn't showing up still, is yours?I figured it out. Leave trust blank and check all the boxes on cusp and you can submit
No clue and nopeIs that accepted by the adcoms? I don't want to confuse them. Plus, my CASPer isn't showing up still, is yours?

Yah, I got the secondary first and started filling her out when I got the residency verification not 3 minutes laterOK, good to know. I thought I was home free in avoiding the residency verification, but maybe I'll still get one down the line. I thought UW was going to operate like WSU and only send secondaries to people who were verified residents. I didn't realize a bunch of you got your secondaries and residency verification requests in tandem.
As long as you check the final box saying you're not interested in participating in the program, I think the adcom will know. Especially if you're essentially leaving the text boxes blank lol.Is that accepted by the adcoms? I don't want to confuse them. Plus, my CASPer isn't showing up still, is yours?
+1CASPer still incomplete on my end, too. Submitted my secondary a few days ago.
Eh, I don't think it was necessary. Adcoms know it's an issue, and it will be pretty obvious that you're not interested/eligible lol.I shoulda done that. I just put a period...
They will review your app before CASPer is recieved.

Are any IS residents still waiting for a secondary? Wondering if I should contact admissions...
I'm still waiting. If you contact them, let me know what they sayAre any IS residents still waiting for a secondary? Wondering if I should contact admissions...

Ok I'm a little relieved to know others are still waiting. I am hesitant to contact them since they started sending out secondaries less than a week ago, so I may just try to have patience for a little while longer.
Has anyone who didn’t need verification received a secondary?
I have not received a secondary. I’m a second year applicant, verified 7/1, meet secondary criteria. I doubt I’ll need a verification. I’ve lived in Seattle my whole life.
I’m a little nervous by how late and disorganized these secondaries seem to be, given their rolling admissions policy. People who interview later, because of a glitch, won’t be interviewing for as many spots. Given how late in the season it is, so many people will be receiving secondaries at once, it’s going to be a mad dash to turn it in. It’s all very unnerving.

I definitely know they accept a lot of reapplicants (like half of the UW med student panels that came to EWU were former reapplicants...) Keep up hope.Same boat, @bluerock Reapplicant, shouldn't need residency verification, haven't received secondary, nervous. I'm wondering if they have reapplicants in a separate screening pile.
Full disclosure I am a 3x reapplicant. Going for the hail mary this cycle. Could be worse lol.I definitely know they accept a lot of reapplicants (like half of the UW med student panels that came to EWU were former reapplicants...) Keep up hope.
Not gonna lie to you either, my last student panel was 11 students and 2 were 3X applicants. They may have been specifically chosen to boost hope, but either way, it happens!Full disclosure I am a 3x reapplicant. Going for the hail mary this cycle. Could be worse lol.
Are you OOS or OOR?Hi! I am OOS and still haven't received a secondary. Is this normal haha? This is my last school!!
I received an email from the residency office saying that they received my docs. Here's what the email said:
"Hello,
Our office has received your Residence Questionnaire and supporting documentation. Please allow approximately 4 to 6 weeks, from the date of this email, for your application to be processed. Applications are reviewed in the order that it is received. If additional information is needed for further determination, you will be contacted by our office via email.
If you have a UW email address, all correspondence going forward will be sent to your @uw.edu email address. To ensure receipt of email(s) from our office, please check your inbox including the spam folder prior to contacting our office.
If you do not receive an email about the status of your application review after 6 weeks, please contact our office at [email protected]. Please note, applications submitted for the quarter will be considered until the last day of the applied quarter for residency. Any requested documentation submitted after the last day of the quarter will be considered for the following registered quarter. There is no retroactive backdating or consideration for residency to previous quarters."
Question though, will they contact me via email if I don't have an @uw.edu email address? I don't believe I have one...

I wonder if that's a FERPA thing? If you don't have a UW account, I'd imagine it's just going to be sent to the email they have for you on file.
Anyone else get the "sorry about the technical difficulties" email?
I submitted my secondary. Still need to submit the packet, but I submitted my secondary.I also got that email. So has no one submitted their secondary yet?

+1. No packet necessary for me, but I also submitted my secondary already. Not really worried about it tbh, considering I made it pretty damn clear I either wasn't interested/eligible for either optional programs.I submitted my secondary. No, I did a few days ago. Had issues with the CUSP section and the CASPer status just like everyone else, that's what I'm assuming that email was in reference to (among other things).

For the TRUST page, I checked every box. For the text boxes, I put:So how did you get past the TRUST/CUSP pages? Mine's not allowing me to submit because it says they're incomplete. Did you just putting a period or "N/A" in the text box work for you guys?
For the TRUST page, I checked every box. For the text boxes, I put:
"N/A due to secondary application portal bug. Not interested in the TRUST program (limited experience in rural areas)."
For the CUSP page, I again checked every box. For the first text box, I put:
"N/A due to secondary application portal bug. Not eligible to be considered for the CUSP program (do not meet criteria B and C)."
I left every other text box on the CUSP page blank.
I know @MemeLord just put a period into each box. Honestly, it doesn't really matter. As long as you check the last box saying you're no longer interested, I think the admissions office will get the hint.
Rec'd residency verification email. Glad to be moving forward, UWSOM!
Hi! I am OOS and still haven't received a secondary. Is this normal haha? This is my last school!!
Do all OOR applicants get a mission statement request or is there a screen of some sort?
Not even UW students use their UW email addresses, lol. I would expect they'd reach out using whatever email AMCAS gave them.I received an email from the residency office saying that they received my docs. Here's what the email said:

I think there’s a screen. From the email they sent me:
“We have received your primary application from AMCAS, and have completed a preliminary review. Based on your experiences, we would like to invite you to submit a short essay about how you meet the mission of our school. This statement is not a secondary application; rather, we will use it in addition to your primary application to determine if your application will meet our criteria for further consideration.”
The mission statement has a 250 word limit FYI
FWIW I know of someone who was rejected in a previous cycle pre-mission statement request with very high stats (LM 80) and a few hundred hours of community service, ended up getting into lots of great programs but did not even get to submit a mission statement. I say go for it!Thanks! I wonder how thorough the screen is... I also received this email, but after reading their mission statement request I am not sure it is worth applying as I would not say I have "extensive" experience with the underserved. If they screened applicants out before sending the mission statement then maybe I'll shoot my shot anyway though!
Are you OOS or OOR?
Congratulations! Bummer for me though. Thank you for the update and best of luck with this school and anywhere else you applied! 🙂I think there’s a screen. From the email they sent me:

What is the difference? I am from Michigan!
OOR is not being from Washington, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Alaska. What is the difference? I am from Michigan!
I know an in-state resident rejected by UW, accepted at Stanford. It's just one of those schools that you take your shot at, regardless of your LizzM.FWIW I know of someone who was rejected in a previous cycle pre-mission statement request with very high stats (LM 80) and a few hundred hours of community service, ended up getting into lots of great programs but did not even get to submit a mission statement.
