When did you transmit? All of the interviews went to applicants that transmitted in May. We’ve got to leave the hook in the water now! The fish are starting to bite.

I transmitted 5/29. All my supporting docs are in too.
 
Those of you who have received interview, would you mind sharing your stats?
 
Maybe our week was the cutoff since it was the last week of May and it was Memorial Day?

I dunno man, just trying not to think about it too much otherwise I'm gonna go crazy. Just hoping for the best at this point, we've put in the work so we have to wait and see

Not directing this comment at any one person, but...Guys, cool your jets. Is that too dated a phrase?? Probably. 😎
Applications are evaluated by many means and not just by date received. Schools will be sending out IIs from now to December and you can't freak out when you don't get one the first week.
Pat yourself on the back for getting your apps completed early and go shopping for your interview outfit 😛

I second this. I interviewed here last cycle mid-August and did not get in, but I know of people who interviewed in October who got in and they submitted their app the same time as I did the last cycle.

Thanks for the info. I’m a 2 time reapp! I did everything possible this gap year. Turned my 510 into a 518, volunteered and got my EMT. 3.75 GPA. Last year not one interview. The year before I interviewed UTMB and was waitlisted.
 
Any chance we can get stats from those who have received interview invites ? I have a 508 and 3.9 sGPA received confirmation that they are reviewing my app back in 06/18.

Nah 518 is around their 75 percentile, you should get an II soon. They take time to read apps so don't worry
 
Since they don’t let people reschedule and I won’t be back in Texas until mid August, should I wait a couple weeks before sending them my casper results? I don’t want to lower my chances... but it would be difficult and expensive to fly back during my internship if I happen to get an interview.

They have already given out August 9th. Next date is 16th.

@iliketurtlez When they say "you can't reschedule" that means if you have committed to an interview date, you can't later tell them you don't want that date and want to change it.
If, however, the first date they offer you is not workable (in your case you have commitments out of state until mid-August) you should tell them this and ask them politely if they can offer you a different date past that. Once you get that date you are locked in.
Naturally they will want to fill the early interview slots first, which is why all schools offer only 1 or 2 dates to you and when those days fill will offer later dates to subsequent students.

Utmbs matriculated median mcat is ~508-9 and I think their range from 25th to 75th is something like 504-516 so they take a wide range
 
Hi! Can I expect to receive an email from UTMB saying that my application is under review regardless of if I receive an interview or not, or will it just be radio silence? I was transmitted on 5/26 and never received a confirmation email.

Edit 6/26 not 5/26. I need to get some sleep.

Ayy I received an interview invite for August 9! What is everyone doing to prepare themselves for the interview?

I never received an email confirmation that my application was under review, and I still received an interview invite. I definitely would have like the peace of mind with knowing they were looking at my application, but maybe the just don't always confirm. That or it went to spam and I never found it.

When did you receive the invite? Just curious if they are sending these out in waves or daily
 
Those of you who received a confirmation email (after submitting primary), did you already have CASPER scores submitted? I haven’t received any emails from them yet.

Last year the confirmation email went out on June 28th for the early apps and the next batch got an email on July 10th. We’ve got to wait a bit.
 
So out of curiosity, are there any statistics such as number of applications to utmb and how many interview vs how many matriculate? I see some from 2016 but nothing more recent.

Most recent stats:
Verified applications 4987 (3891 IS, 1066 OOS, 30 International)
Interviewed: 1091 IS, 31 OOS, 0 International (22% of IS got interviews, 3% of OOS got interviews)
Matriculated: 222 IS 8 OOS

UTMB does not consider International students so puzzled why they applied anyway.

Interviewed 1091 instate and 31 OOS. Final matriculants are 219 and 6 (+3, +2 for MD/PhD). Included are 11 people from BS/MD programs.

Matriculants are controlled by state forcing people to choose a school in January which open up slots for UTMB to selectively fill. They dont show admitted in MSAR.
