Damn, seeing all you guys (congrats btw, much luv 🙂 ) getting accepted on my interview day makes me just a bit anxious about their decision about me...
Don’t fret, they are super slow as far as I can tell.

Do you guys think no call at this point is indicative of a rejection for those of us from the first interview group?

Judging from what people have said about the 50% acceptees before 2020 and 50% after, no. We might just be in for the long haul. I actually think the way WSU handles admissions is admirable, albeit frustrating from our end lol.

Nope, if you go through the previous years’ threads, you’ll find that it’s very routine for the early interviewers to be accepted in December, January, or later (or WLed in March).

Although admittedly it’s not a great feeling knowing that every interview day that passes drops another 20 interviewees into the ever growing “pending” pool.

The class size will be 80 correct? So we probably looking at around 200 acceptances (they have decently low yield if so recall...)

I've been under review since mid July. Do they do silent rejections? Are they receptive to letters of interest? I'm a WA resident and this would be one of my top choices.

So will the next round of acceptance calls probably be in December? No more for the October round?

Congrats!!! For what date?
They had one date in November and another in December. I didn't look further. I wouldn't be surprised if they had some cancellations after Oct. 15 and I lucked out. The earlier the better is what I say.

How likely is it that I will get an II this late in the game? I received in II from UW, and have not yet applied to PNWU. I would absolutely love to go to WSU and I want to manage my expectations.
  • LizzyM: 74.70
  • Lots of volunteering with underserved communities
  • Lots of leadership experience
  • Thousands of scribing hours in 7 specialties
  • No research
  • UW Graduate (Biology)
  • WA resident
  • Approved residency verification on 8/5
  • Submitted secondary on 8/26
  • Essays were very similar to my UW App

No one can know for sure, but I don't think it is that late for WSU. They mentioned that they won't make most of their decisions until end of interview season in March, so don't count yourself out!

At the interview they said that they will continue to offer interiviews all the way until Feb. and that those who interview then still have a legitimate shot. It's still early in their process, so yeah you still have a great chance!

Thank you both! Going to maintain a positive outlook for the time being 🙂

Last year their last II offers went out mid-January. They keep some spots open until the end, so the last people to interview aren't just interviewing for a waitlist spot.

If I recall correctly, it is before Christmas Break.
You do recall correctly. They said the next offers go out before Christmas break. They'll make decisions again in January and February. Then in mid-March they'll fill their class.

Withdrew my app as I was accepted to the UW a couple days ago. I interviewed on the second day and didn’t hear back so I’m not sure if it really impacts anyone. Good luck all!

The hero we all need.

Are they still handing out IIs? Besides the initial rush of IIs, I dont remember seeing many passed out (at least reflected on this site).

If you don’t have an invite yet, seriously treat this like it’s not your cycle. Not trying to attack you at all but I know what it’s like to be where you are. If I were you I’d look for the greatest weakness in your application and work on it so... it’ll boost your chances for next cycle. I went from no interviews to UW and multiple acceptances so I know it can be done. Also.... truth be told, I was a tad lazy and I reused most of my activities list without making significant changes and it worked. Point is, reapplying sucks but it’s not nearly as bad assuming you have a solid foundation.

Received a rejection email today. Pretty disappointed.
Good luck ya'll!

I interviewed at the beginning on October.
I'm sorry for your disappointed, and thanks for sharing.
I'm really impressed that the staff took the emotional energy to send those out. It gives re-applicants so much more time to improve their application for the next cycle.

I feel like if you don’t have an acceptance or a ton of interviews, you should be working on your app as if you didn’t get in...

You should be working as you're not getting in the summer you apply, really, because only 40 percent of applicants do get in. However, it's not always clear what you're lacking until you get through a couple interviews. If you interview in the Fall, this might be especially tricky, because your application might be strong, but you need to grow in more personal ways.
That said, getting a rejection can help in other ways, such as with planning to go to another program.

I'm glad they're sending out some decisions. Hopefully I'll hear one way or another before too long. The silence sucks.

Anyone else wondering if WSU is going to give us a break and let us know where we stand before the $1000-$1500, Dec. 14 deposits are due on our DO spots? #BreakingTheBank
Last year's thread showed a couple of people receiving acceptance calls around this date!

I understand and appreciate WSU's acceptance policies, but it's a little discouraging to think I interviewed in one of their earlier interview dates and possibly won't hear back until next year 🙁
