I received a complete email on 7/29 and my BU portal says that my app is complete and under review, but I never received any of the delay emails they've been sending out. Do you think I should call them to ask why?

Acceptances are impossible until October 1st for EDP and October 15 for regular MD and for BU specifically, December. As to your other question about what they're looking for, look at the thread or their website. The general gist is BU is very proud of its connection to Boston Medical Center.

thanks! I do not have specific ties however I mentioned the underserving pop that is similiar in my current city. hopefully that is enough!

Yeah I wrote about homeless shelter volunteering and starting a tutoring org. to specifically help underserved students due to COVID (400+ students, with 20% ish being underserved/low income). We also started collaboration with local elementary school in very underserved area.

Basically same. They don't care about stats alone. They seem to be putting a much stronger emphasis on "school fit," which comes subjectively from their reviewer's impressions, regardless of how much service/compassion we think we've done. Means absolutely nothing. Just gotta keep chin up and hope other schools will see us differently

Wow that's truly...shocking that they found that to not be the fit they were looking for. Unless you also had zero research, I'm kinda confused lol

Honestly, I feel like I know less and less about med school admissions everyday..... my neurotic self just wants that A

Yea I was pretty sad and surprised. I also have 1300 hrs research with presentation and abstract. No pubs.
 
Does "under review" mean anything at BU? Or is it just something that automatically shows up when you submit your secondary? For reference I was complete one week ago!

With all medical schools, all this signifies is your application is being reviewed. It doesn't mean anything beyond just that 🙂

Ok thanks for the info! I know for some schools you are automatically "under review" when you submit even if no one is reviewing your app like at Jefferson lolol
 
Complete 8/3, no delay email or anything else (no R, no II). Very paranoid that the R will come this week. OOS, LM 74. Wish there was a clear reason to receive/not receive the delay email because I'm paranoid not receiving it means something bad

Never received the delay email and got an II a while ago. It means nothing either way.
 
Kinda feels like the delay email is a slight hold. In the last paragraph, they say “extended review of your file.” They also say they will interview less candidates. So probably they saw our file, and decided to not reject or send an ii just yet.

I was under the impression that "extended review of your file" just referred to how they're delayed in general. I think someone on this thread got the delay email the same day they got an II

I don’t think so. I got the delay email last week and got an II the very next day.
 
So I got an II on 9/9, but I had to reject my interview dates. It said to call the admissions office (which I did after two emails), but no response. What should I do?

Have you tried the message center on the secondary portal? That’s how I rescheduled mine.

So I sent a regular email day of the invite then I sent a message through the message center 9/12. Left them a phone message on 9/21.

Try to message them through the message center on a business day during regular hours. That’s when I messaged and I received a response in around 20 minutes.

So I just sent them another message, and based on the icon it seems that they opened my previous message but haven't responded... oh well. Thanks for the help

Pre-II R this morning 🙁 complete 8/3. Stings a little as it was the first school that I had heard back from.
 
I wonder if it's going to speed up at some point? I was complete on 9/3.... and there's currently R's for 8/3.
 
do all the Rs get sent at the same time or are they doing them throughout the day lol im getting nervous
