For anyone who did the IQ session, is is casual attire? I am traveling and unfortunately do not have any formal attire and do not know if I should reschedule or not. Thank you!
Yes mine was pretty casual

These Alt lists are making me question why they even humored me with an interview. Chances seem especially rough following the student interview experience I had :dead:
What happened with your student interviewer?

Answered one of my questions in a way to make my interviewer then ask why I applied to CWRU based on my answer given that my answer and Case's curriculum contradict each other in a way. Tried to dig myself out of that hole but don't think I was successful. Additionally I couldn't think of more examples for one of the other questions I was asked (gave two examples but he wanted another one that was in a different setting). Came up with one at then end but was still rough

Congrats everyone accepted today! If you have any questions about Case/cleveland feel free to ask away. Also alt list people stay hopeful there are plenty of people in every class off the waitlist. I know it’s a super stressful thing to do to sit around and wait but you’ll get through it

Did anybody else who got accepted receive an email last night about a Zoom call today with updates re: the process? I didn't attend because I was at work and they said they'd email out the updates later, which I'm now assuming meant my acceptance email lol. I'm jw if there's anyone else who got the same email and attended the call.
Yeah I got invited to a Zoom call this morning (and I attended), but the dean told us we were all waitlisted. Got the waitlist email soon after. Maybe a high-priority waitlist?? Who knows.

But DEFINITELY attend if you get that invitation; they took attendance and I'm assuming it helps to be present (shows interest, which sometimes matters if you get WL)

Hopefully that's a good sign! How many people were on the call?

The possibility of a high priority waitlist does not make me feel good about my chances. The more and more the cycle progresses, the more I'm convinced my interview was merely a courtesy because of my legacy status.

I heard on their podcast that late LORs are a real negative with this school. I know they're generally not good for rolling admissions reasons. My last writer just submitted his letter today (after months of me reminding him), is that too late? This is definitely a top choice school for me.

Is it important to complete the IQ session prior to the interview? I was unavailable for the times in between my II and my interview date, but I can register for one after my interview. Does anyone know if this is okay?

Does the IQ session require any preparation? I.e. will they be evaluating us on our performance in it? Or is it more to just learn about the program? Thanks!

No. It’s casual and is purely informational. No bearing on admissions.

How many applicants are present for each interview day?
Anywhere from 12-20 interviewees are on our interview days. It comes down to interviewer availability that determines the slots we have available. Although we've been trying to limit the days to no more than 20.

@CWRU.Sman when can 10/12 interviewees expect to hear back? I appreciate your help throughout SDN its been very resourceful!

Also for anyone that hasn’t interviewed yet I recommend their podcasts. I wish I had listened to it prior to my interview but they have one for Lerner as well which is helping me prep!

Our next Ad Com meeting isn't until 10/26. We haven't discussed yet when we will be putting out our next batch of decisions. Probably some time in November but I can't say exactly when right now. Hang in there!

@CWRU.Sman I was wondering if CWRU has discussed the scenario in which applicants with many interview invitations accept all of them because they are virtual, whereas in an ordinary cycle applicants with multiple interview invitations would typically not attend every one of them, and how that may affect the admission process this cycle? Have you considered interviewing more candidates or are you guys planning to interview the same number you typically do? Thanks so much.

Good question. Yes, we've talked about this and have been talking with our friends at other medical schools about this very topic but it's so hard identify those that are window shopping vs. those that are truly enthusiastic about our school. So, we treat everyone the same! Our hope is that we'll flip anyone who is window shopping into real fans of CWRU! I'm obviously very biased but we have so much going on at CWRU it's ridiculous.

In light of the potential for window shoppers, we have discussed interviewing a few more applicants than in the past but we'll have to see how that sorts out over the coming months.

Thanks so much for your insight.

@CWRU.Sman Are you able to speak at all if there is a higher priority alternate list? I know the list isn't ranked, but there were some students who were notified about their alternate list status via zoom meetings on top of the email notification. Is there any significance to this?

If I may also ask one more question: Is it acceptable for students to email admissions requesting feedback on their application/interviews from either their interviewers or the admissions committee in general? In my scenario, the only method I have to contact my interviewers is through the school, but I don't want to overwhelm admissions with unnecessary requests. Thank you!

Does anyone have interviews from both here and Lerner? I have one for CCLCM but was hoping to get one from case too!

@CWRU.Sman How do you guys view an update and/or interest letter post-interview, prior to an initial decision being made?
It's fine if you want to do that - completely up to you though. I want to be careful here because I don't want to give the perception that if someone decides not to send something that they are at a disadvantage. As an interviewee to the University Program, you have the ability to upload documents including updates and/or LOIs to your application so it's there for you as an option.
