Just looking at last year's thread...the last secondary went out in December even though the last interview date was in December so not sure what that was about. The person completed it but he or she suspected that it was a donation because they was no follow up after submitting it. Pre-II R's went out late December after the last interview date I believe. Someone submitted a secondary on 10/3 that turned into a II a couple days later (person was given a II on 10/8) so fingers crossed for this coming week. After that, I'll probably take the L.

Yeah, the only time I would email about something like this is for a school that sends secondary apps out to everyone. Charles Drew actually sits down and actively evaluates primary apps before sending secondary so emailing them comes off like "I'm too good to wait for a decision" imo. Like I said a couple post earlier, they don't really do rolling Rs (they send all pre- and post-II R's out in December it seems) so we could be sitting here until December.

I just read these response. Damn, I already emailed them. Oh well, hopefully it shows I care and start some kind of initial contact. Thanks for looking out!
 
finally got a secondary today, complete 8/17. unsure if worth submitting at this point
 
My MCAT scores are from May 2018 and I have noticed that the website states they only take up to no earlier than July 2018. Did I just send my application to this school for no reason?

you should contact the school. Are you sure you read it correctly? All schools I know accept MCAT scores as long as students take them within 3 years
 
Hey! For those who have already interviewed, what was the format of your interview? I read in the past they did A LOT of MMI's and a 1-on-1 interview. Is it the same? How was doing the interview on zoom?

I got one this evening. Just submitted. They acknowledged receiving my primary on September 20th so it's been exactly a month for me. Lowkey feel like it's so late in the game that it is a waste but I'm not in the position to be turning down secondaries lol.

I actually really enjoyed the interview, one of the best parts was that we had a lot of time to interact with fellow interviewees, and everyone was awesome so it was fun. But the format was MMI + 1 traditional + group activity.

hey, does anybody know if we will still be considered for Drew (post-interview) if we were rejected from Geffen. like if we interviewed at drew, but then received a rejection from geffen does that basically mean we were rejected from drew as well? thank you in advance!

I dont believe so. They are separate to my understanding. You can be admitted to UCLA but not be CDU. So as a Charles Drew candidate, if admitted, you'd be CDU/UCLA despite being "rejected" from Geffen.

I got the R from Geffen last week but still pending secondary from CDU/UCLA. I asked a friend who is CDU/UCLA PRIME and said to just sit tight as the two committees are independent and being rejected from Geffen does not exclude you from CDU/UCLA candidacy.

Did anyone get a confirmation email after submitting their secondary? The process was a little weird to me (how you have to do the payment separately from the app portal).
 
hmmm App got verified on August 21st, yet I still haven't received a secondary from this school. In-state ORM. Have received 2 interview invites so far.
 
Do y'all think emailing about a secondary would help? My experience really matches their mission :/

I emailed them 2 weeks ago and still no reply.

I did again a few days ago for personal reasons with regards to my email being disconnected a few days. No reply then either.

you should be receiving an e-mail closer to your interview date that will have a link to some videos about what to expect on your interview date. Take some time to watch those so you know what to expect.

other than that, this interview was a lot of fun. You get a lot of time to speak to the people in your group (besides the group activity) which helps a lot.

just relax, you’ll do fine, know your app, know what you wrote, why you wrote it, and just be yourself okay? You got this!

I just got the 2nd!! Im shook!
Low stat. URM. Parallel Mission. OOS.
Under Review 9/7.

Edit: "Charles R. Drew/UCLA Admissions - AMCAS Primary Application Received" email received 9/7.

Whoops. My bad. I meant to say I got the "Charles R. Drew/UCLA Admissions - AMCAS Primary Application Received" email on 9/7. Within the body of the email it states "The Admissions Committee is reviewing applications and will notify you of your status as soon as a decision is reached." Thats why I confused it.
